I heard on the news that of Canada's population of 32 million or so, only 11% smoke weed. I had a discussion with my friends and we came to the agreement that that has to be way way higher. In the town where i live there's at least 50% of the people smoke dope.

Just wondering what you thought of that.

I have to agree, almost anywhere you go you will run into someone who smokes bud. People you would never expect smoke, for example, when I was in college my guidance councelor actually smoked and we started talking about it. After a while I started smoking with my ****ing guidance councler!

Totally man! Ever since I came back home from Uni like a month ago, I've found out that so many people I know smoke weed that I would've never guessed. But at the same time I think the 11% or whatever is probably pretty accurate, because people that only smoke once or twice a year don't count towards that, and you have to figure that the number of people older than 60 and younger than 15 that smoke is tiny... And there's a lot of old people in Canada, and a lot of young people...

I don't know if you should count the people over 60. I mean those who are heavy smokers probably are not going to just stop cause they reach a certian age. I know I will still be smoking till the day I die.

I think that the number in Canada will be around 10 to 20 %.
I don't think there are as many people as you think that smoke marijuana compared to those who don't.

Haha when I was walkin through this park near my house I saw some guy chillin on a bench and smokin a joint. He was tryin to hide it kind of so I knew it was weed, then when I walked by him I could smell it. I shoulda asked him for a puff. Btw this was at about 3 in the afternoon with all these kids around. Haha

Edit: I'd say it's around 20% cause almost no kids smoke and most old people don't and most parents don't either. It's mostly just young people which is about 25% of our population.

Heh, before I read that again I was going to ask if you toked with him.

When me and some buddies were down at the corner store they asked my friends red-neck dad Clarence(Such a sweet name!) if he'd buy them some beer. It was hilarious, some guy at the pump butted in and asked why the f*ck we're not spending our time soaking up the sun. I told him that I skated all day, and he said he thought he saw me smoking up with some buddies at the skate park. Apparently he was biking there, and I had a cool convo with him. He told me that he'd smoke me out if he sees me there too! Like me he doesn't drink, so that's cool as well.

P.S. Clarence ended up buying my friends some beer. He put it in his fridge downstairs and told them if there was a drop left by morning he'd kick their sissy asses. lmao

10 bucks says you are only focusing on one age group here (eg: 50% of teens in your area smoke)

10-15% sounds like a more correct number when you rule out all the small children, seniors, and all the non-toking adults and teens.
