| So in away, he did cheat? The USA gets bad press over here for the way loopholes are used too much. How do you see this problem being sorted? |

| No, technically he didn't cheat, the system just worked for him. The debate about the validity of the electoral college, and First Past the Post voting systems entirely could go on forever, and probably will. It isn't going to change any time soon... As for Blair, he's in some serious frickin' trouble. From what I read today, the Intelligence and Security Committee will be the ones to conduct the inquiry, but the Conservatives want an open public inquiry... We'll see what happens, but this is not good for Blair, credibility issues at the same time that he's pushing for the euro and other contentious issues is not what he wants...

| Well there are only a couple ways to change any loopholes as you refer to them. I am going to assume your definition of loophole as a way for a person or govt to get something by another due to the way it is worded. Not sure if this is the definiton you are refering to but that is what I am going to go with for this post. The solution is to get more people involved with the issues they care enough about to change. Getting the people and politicians in who care about the issues that you want to make an affect on. Which granted does not appear to happen very often. The second I believe is voting which to me is horrible for the simple fact that alot of times the major candidates have alot more money to campaign with so the othe candidates are so minutely represented that many people hardly know they exist. Which take a look at our past election it came down to Gore or Bush as the huge campaigning political monsters where was Nader? Loopholes will always be around I think that is inevitable it is the people who have to determine how to eliminate the ones they think are injust! Hope this makes sense to anyone who reads it. This is my first post I have been reading for awhile just now decided to join I love the discussions on this board. Lowchin |

| I was refuring to that same fact. It all comes down to the same thing, Money talks. Money should not be the factor in finding the truth. There has to be a change. |

Funny, huh, some yanks have no idea the PM is about to be publically hanged and haranged for lying to the people. Brits ain't havin none of it. He's outta there. In the Yankee States Bush has become even more popular because they went to war. BBC told me that even if it were PROVEN that there are / were never any wmd's...The Yankees would still stand behind Their Presidents decision to fight an illegal war. ( The states created The UN...now it's " inferioir?", why? because what USA is doing/ has done, is wrong and immoral.) Heres what I don't get. Why is Tone rushing the euro agenda, now? He went to war, like the puppet he is, I thought, cuz the pound is tied to the $ and if one sinks so will the other... now this is weird_ The Euro is on the steady rise against the buck-o...and now Tone wants to join our...suddenly " strong" currency. Or does he just want a referendum? The dollar is sinking...tax cuts will help push it further in debt. " spend your way out of a recession..." Fear= more spending=more spending=nation terrified nuff blabla... Piece, of 8_ | |

| He's got no choice. Maybe it's because our German connection is coming back to haunt us. They would still love to rule the world, i think. |

| I dont care if the average americans vote for the president barely counts, I dont like the thought of people who watch American Idol factoring in for who should run the country. Edit: Who really cares if the war is all about oil? I love oil, the more we have, the better!

| That's retarded. The person with the most votes overall should win. How is it democracy if more people vote for the other guy and he loses. Any country that only has two parties can't be that democratic anyways.
__________________ "In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable what then?" |
