| I'll just answer number 2. He became president by legitimate terms (I still don't like him though). He had enough electoral votes. I'm sure that it has been suggested to get rid of the electoral college, and just go by the number of votes someone receives from registered voters. I also think there was some incident in the past where a member of the electoral college voted for someone else, despite the fact that the person who they should had voted for won the popular vote. Apparently (I think) they can do that. I would much rather go by the popular vote (I think that's the right term).

| It's just goofy that it's not the voters that pick the president. |

| I listen to Sean Hannity sometimes, who is a very strong republican/radio talk show host. Basically he thinks that republicans can do no wrong, and democrats can do no right. Every time someone brings up the issue of no WMD being found in Iraq, he says something like, "The mass graves were reason enough for me." The only problem is that we didn't invade them because of their mass graves; we really didn't go in there at all because of what he was doing to his own people. We went in there because of errorism....oh, excuse me....terrorism. We wanted to rid his country of WMD. And now that we have found none, they are scrambling for any justification they can find, which is really weak in my opinion. We could've invaded any number of countries because of what they do to their own people. So basically what the republicans are doing now is deflecting the issue onto something else. They REALLY don't want to hear about it, and not too many Americans hear news about NOT finding weapons. So how do you mean that Tony Blair is hanging on by a thread? |

| Every time the news comes on Blair's problems have got bigger. The people of the Uk just ar'nt having it. The public believe Bush is a crook and Blair is his puppet. We believe it was all done for the oil and as Bush has conections in the industry, he forced us (UK) in to commiting a terrible crime. Not every one mind, just most of us. On a personal note, i hate the way Bush smirks, even when he's talking about people dying. You can tell he's a bastard. |

| Are you looking in the right places. If you caought our news today, you will see in parlement today he had a barraking from several members of his own party. This has followed weeks of pressure from all angles about his integraty. Also he has refused to look into the fact no WMD where found. This will make him even less popular. Another thing he is doing at present is forcing us into Europe against our will. This isn't the USA where the president is god. Cinton should have at least been sacked if not hung. This is England, (remember Thacher,) his job can go from underneath him very quickly. I have watched the news in the USA many times, it is also, nothing like ours. I'm not saying ours is not bias, but compared to the USA, where it's just propaganda non stop, somethings over here are not sacred and the truth will be known. |

It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable what then?" | |

| Each state gets a certain number of electoral votes based on its population. If a republican wins the majority of popular votes in, say, California, then that candidate gets that state's electoral votes. Whoever gets the most electoral votes wins the presidency. The reason people like to b*tch about Bush is because more people actually voted for Gore (he won the popular vote), but Bush won the electoral college votes. The reason they started the electoral college is because they felt that too many voters were too uneducated to vote correctly, so it's kinda like the entire state votes one way or the other. |
