was thinkin about goin to college up there next fall and was curious if any stoners exist there and what they have to say about the attitude and availability of weed. are there any good parties? just some info that locals know

Marijuana is pricey here however, but usually that comes with some of the best bud you might smoke. 400-420$ a zone, $120 for a quarter.

Good parties? I guess, just depends who you know.

Where were you thinking about going to college? Anchorage? Fairbanks? Juneau?

I was thinking about going to UA anchorage or UA Fairbanks. I was in anchorage last october and thought it was pretty cool. The only thing that pissed me off was going into a pipe shop and having them tell me I couldnt buy cause i had to be 19. Which place is better? anchorage or fairbanks?

Anchorage is a bigger city. Obviously, what comes with a bigger city comes with Anchorage - crimes, gangs, shady neighborhoods, cement jungle etc. Weed is a bit cheaper there (50 dollars an eight). The campus on Anchorage is pretty big, it is spread out throughout the town I believe into different sections. It's a nice school though, thats for sure. Plus living in Anchorage, its kind of the 'center' of Alaska, a lot goes on there that doesn't happen other places (clubs, bands touring, bigger festivals, etc.)

Fairbanks is farther up north. Its the 2nd biggest city in Alaska. Thing is, its cold as FUCK, especially in the winter. I don't know if your a fan of drastic temperature changes when winter rolls around, but um yeah prepare to leave your car running all the time, and bundle up before you even think about stepping outside. I haven't spent very much time in Fairbanks, so I don't know much about the town in general other than what I hear from a few friends that live there.

I live in Juneau, the 3rd largest. It has all the best parts of a medium sized town (36,000) plus all the best things about a small town (you know everyone, much safer, barely any crime, etc.) If you want to know more about Alaska from the Alaskan himself, feel free to PM me.
