Hey all, I'm new to the forums, but I come to you all in a time of duress. I've read pages and pages of people describing the excruciating pain of having a dry socket and the relatively short time you have to take off from the bud is easy compared to the pain. But I do have off from work, so I'm going to be very, very bored. Do you think that if one of my friends were blazing, and they blew me a couple of shotties through the nose, would still have the same pressure effect to cause a dry socket? Thank you all in advance. ![]()

I smoked a blunt about an hour after i got out of surgery and i was fine. Then again the surgeon say that i had the easiest wisdom teeth removal he had in 5 years. My buddy smoked too, they just said take really small puffs from a blunt/joint and don't overdo it. The best thing to do would be to wait until your surgeon says that it is ok to drink from a straw, because its basically the same wear on your open sockets. As for the nose shotguns. If you dont suck from your mouth, there is no damage to the socket, except from dry mouth. Drink some water before, during, and after you smoke and there will be no problems, it will just burn your nose. You could always eat it too.

Thanks for your reply, I just got back from the office. 24 hours he said before it'd be even okay to think about smoking or anything which could dislodge a clot. I will attempt to make some baked goods, though. ![]()

well if you roll a joint than you can suck in te smoke off of the joint, not the most efficent but another method would be taking it through the nose, just avoid the dry sockets at all cost , i managed to avoid it, and baked goods wouldnt be a bad idea either

| When I got my wisdom teeth removed, I smoked the next day. I kept a saline solution next to me, and swished well after each hit. I guess the real 'trick' to it is to avoid too much suction, i.e. pack a loose bowl. I didn't get a dry socket, and when I went back in for a check up, I was told that there was nothing to see as I had already healed over the wound.

Friend of mine smoked a blunt probably a few hours after his surgery. Gave himself dry sockets, said it hurt like hell, so he just kept smoking to try to make the pain go away by getting really really high all the time. It took his dry sockets like two weeks to go away, because he kept smoking. Doesn't sound pleasant to me.
