Your love for your mother never stops amazing me 29.
I mean I would do the same thing without hesitation...it's funny sometimes how some hard labor or hard work seems so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I can sit and bitch about cutting my grass for a whole week, but if my grandmother wanted me to resod her whole yard and make a new garden, it wouldn't take me long to tell her I'm on my way, without complaints. I'm glad you are able to do what you can for her 29. Some of us should be so lucky as to have someone like you in their life.

And dro, I'm very sorry to hear about your grandpa . Funerals are never fun, but if you're anything like me, take advantage of the time you have with family. Enjoy the memories you have of him with the rest of your family. It's no lie, laughter is some of the best medicine. I rather be chuckling it up in the funeral home with some family rather then sulking. Makes the whole process easer.
Hope all goes well with ya my man.

A Sunny Day...........Some Where Above Ded Land
(heheheheheh)

Dro, I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather. Like Dark said, cherish every single memory you have with him and share those with others. There will be times where you will hear someone say something or see someone do something and it will remind you of something he would say or do and it will put a smile on your face. Those kind of memories are priceless.

Dark, Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate them. Your post made me smile. I have to say though, I feel like I am the lucky one to have an exceptional mother. I couldn't have asked for a better one. We have our memories that I will cherish forever no matter if they are bad or good but I can say that most of them are good and the bad ones I put on myself and can't blame her for. I call those the learning experiences so really they can't even be categorized as bad memories.

Merry-juana, My mother and I have a great relationship and have had for some time. I have been able to tell her anything and everything. I don't think there is anything about me that she doesn't know. I know what your talking about though. I have told her all of the dumb things that I did that I had lied to her about at the time. She had just laughed it off. Some of the things she said she had known about and some things she was shocked about. She just took it all in and laughed about them. All I can say is she is great and I feel so lucky to have her in my life.

I could go on and on about some of the things that we used to do as a family but I will tell you all of one thing we used to do that stands out so much in my mind is when we would have all of my sisters and my brother there we would have all of the neighborhood friends over and we would build human pyramids. That was so much fun. The fun part is when we would try to get so high up and everyone would fall and bust our butts. Since I was the smallest one I would always try to get on top. I hardly ever made it there without making everyone fall. We all have so many fun memories like that. It was just awesome!

I feel the best way to deal with the fact a famaly member had died, is to remember one thing:
You come to this earth as a test. You get tested every day, and pleasure is few and far between. When you die you have finished your test, and all of the earthly pain is drained, and all the positive emotions you have felt on earth combined will not even be comparable to the great positive emotion you will be filled with for all eternaty. If you where to get even a taste of that emotion while on earth you would die. Al you have to think about is that your famaly member now finally finished there journey, and have completed there test.

Hey Muggze! She is hanging in there. J and I will be going back there next weekend. Of course I speak to her everyday. She wants to get my brother and I together to have a talk with us. I guess I want to put that off so she will try to stay around a little longer. Maybe that's not a good way to look at that but as I said before I am greedy. I really will hate life if she's not in it.

We are still working on clearing the land. It's almost done and will be completed next weekend. J's friend is coming back with the bobcat to finish it up. Then we will just have to keep the grass mowed and edged and we will be fine with that. Then it will be the utilities and moving the mobile home. So we are getting there. It is taking a little longer than we thought it would. I just hope my mother will hang on till it's done.

Thank you for asking Muggze. Hope everything is well with you. I have missed you and have been wondering where you ran off to. I hope to hear from you soon!

I thought I would give everyone an update on mom's condition. I went to see her yesterday. She wanted to talk to my brother and I. The talk was basically between my brother and I about what was going to happen when she is gone, you know her belongings, land, etc. She had been wanting us to get together and talk about it but I really wasn't sure I wanted to do that. I finally came to the conclusion that if it makes her feel better than I guess I better let it happen. It was a good talk but hopefully my brother will keep up his end of the deal. We'll see how that goes. His track record doesn't show a whole lot. If your wondering what I am talking about he is just lazy. He never weed eats around the mobile homes without being told and he lives right next door to her. He lives less than 5 minutes from the land and he could have been clearing that land but no I have to bring friends from Houston (2 hour drive) to do it. Since we had gone to clear it my brother hadn't even kept up with the mowing of it to keep it from growing back. I told him I expect him to take care of that part and I didn't feel it was fair that I have to do it all and he will be the one living there along with my mother (hopefully). He needs to help out more. Yes, he does go to the store, get the mail, bank, any other small errands she needs which is a good thing. I am glad he at least does that. As far as her belongings...we only talked about the stuff that she has in storage and everywhere else. You see, she is a pack rat. She used to get what I think is junk but she thought was treasure and sell it. So she has 2 storage rooms full and another travel trailer full and her living room and another bedroom in her mobile home full of stuff. We decided that we were going to donate all of the stuff in the storage rooms to a church that recently burned down to help them with the re-building of the church. Everything else we would just sell in bulk. We hadn't discussed her other belongings as of yet and honestly I am not ready to do that yet. We can cross that bridge when we get to it.

She is getting weaker it seems. She is saying that she doesn't think she is going to make the move. We will still continue to complete the land and get it ready for her mobile home just in case she decides she is up for it. I will not pressure her into it. At least she will know it is there and ready. We are going there this weekend to finish it up. Then all we will have left to do is get the light pole up and wired. My brother is supposed to get the water/sewer lines ran for her. Once that is done the land should be ready whenever she is ready for the move.

I told her you all said hello and she says...... She also said you all are such sweet people. I agree....you all are very sweet people and supportive. Again as I have said many times....Thank you for being here for me!

I am so sorry to hear about your mother, 29.

I hope that if it is her time to go it is peaceful, and everyone she loves can be with her. Here's to your mother, my friend.

Went out to mom's yesterday and she's not doing well again. She has had many attacks and it is taking 6 or 7 treatments to come out of it. the nurse that was there last week listened to her lungs and she said they sound good so we may have more time than anticipated....but only God knows.

We manicured the land and it is basically ready for the utilities. Mom is still saying she isn't moving there so maybe she won't. It will be ready if she changes her mind. My brother found someone that will move the mobile home for $1,200.00 and that is the cheapest we found so far.
