You know I believe we can communicate with spirits or energy from ours past relationships. Im working on trying to do it with my dad, but I think you just have to look for it. I know he talked to me in my dream about 6 months after he died because thats all I remembered from the dream and it was short and very real.

Also from what I have read spirits can present a smell for you to remember and after that dream I shit you not I would come home and the house would have his smell but it only stayed around for about a week and half.

Anyway I hope you can be ok through it all. That food sounds good now.. BBQ or something. haha.

Take care 29

Very sorry to hear about this My best wishes to you and your mother. Your both in my prayers. Hopefully she can pull through, but look at it this way, Its better for her to just pass into the next world than to stay in this world and suffer.

It has been a long time since I have given an update. So here it is:

Her caregiver called me last night to tell me to listen for the phone. She had a real bad attack to where it took her 6 treatments to come out of it. It seems that when she starts smoking again is when she has those real bad attacks. When she quits smoking, the attacks are very few. She had her caregiver take the cigarettes away from her. I asked her why she continues to smoke when I know she can quit since she had done it before for like 5 years. She started to cry and said "it seemed much easier before but for some reason its harder this time". Hopefully this time she will be able to quit smoking.

One thing I can say is they had said she had maybe two or three months to live, but they weren't for sure....They were wrong. She blew right past that. It has been 4 months almost 5. As I have said many times....For selfish reasons I am happy she blew past that and has beaten the deadlines but then again should I be happy that she has suffered that much longer....not so happy about that.

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself - you're not being selfish. This is a tough situation to be in and it's not like you have any control over how long she lives. Just enjoy the time you have with her and make it count.

We're all thinking about you and wishing you and your mom the best.

My mother passed away aswell in 2006 from lung cancer. I was in grade 6. What I learned is that My mother would have not wanted me to grief over her passing. So i keep her in my heart always, and i know thats the way she would of wanted it.

You sound like an amazing person, I know it is hard. And your mother might have enjoyed those extra days, because it gave her more time to spend with you and other loved ones.

sorry to go through this. it hurts a lot knowing someone you love is about to go, and you know; you dread knowing how much worse it will hurt after they go. my grandma is very very old, and so her health is pretty poor- she get sick very easily now, and she has to often go to the hospital. she was recently in the hospital for pneumonia and she was dangerously sick. we were concerned that it might go bad. (it didnt; she got better and is still currently at her home, and i actually drove up to visit her today)

she doesnt have a lot of time left though; we all know this. every year at xmas time we quietly talk to ourselves that it very well may be her last one. so far it has been looking like she may not make it to this one. im extremely anxious and upset because my mom's parents were and are closer to me than my own parents- i love them more, and they have done more/cared for me more/truly loved me more than my own parents and i am preparing for her departure. its fairly inevitable.

sorry to hijack your thread, i just want you to know and understand what youre going through. i was gonna say that fairly soon i may be making a similar thread like this, after she goes, but i dont know. seeing as half of the active members and certain moderators severely dislike me, i have almost completely stopped posting here because im obvious a problem or whatever.

I don't look at it as hi-jacking the thread. You are welcome to post here all you like. You have been nice to me and I appreciate you coming to tell me your experiences with this type of thing. It's not an easy subject, or one that many like to discuss. Hang in there and remember that there is one thing that no-one can take away from you is your grandmothers love!
