Boy do i have a story for you guys...

I have a nice long drive to take home for spring break so of course I roll myself a nice blunt beforehand. I would say it had about 4 different kinds of weed in it that I had been saving for a week between different batches. This was a fat sucker that I planned to chief in different sessions over the 8 hour drive. So I'm on my way and I've been rolling for about 30 minutes when I start to smoke. I crack my window just a little for the smoke. I would say I got about 5 or 6 pulls and felt fantastic. I put it down for a minute in my ashtray since I was coughing too much and Im rolling along in the right lane. I see a cop pull up on my left but I don't really think anything of it since I'm not speeding or doing anything wrong. I had the cruise control at 67 in a 65mph zone. So sure enough he starts to pull past but then he doesn't...he slows down and he jumps in right behind me and turns his lights on. FUCK!

So at this point I'm already freaking out because I'm imagining he saw me smoking the blunt or something. My first though was literally in words "fuck this is it" I mean hey what the hell else could it be? The blunt kinda went out on its own in those 2 minutes and i stashed it away as I was pulling over. I considered eating it but decided against it. He pulls me over to the right side and all I can think as I'm slowing down is "oh God I'm really fucking high". I grabbed my license and registration instantly and already had it in hand. He took what felt like forever to even walk up to the car. I would say 2 minutes (which from what I always heard isnt the norm). But it did give me enough time to toss the lighter under the seat just so it wasnt out in the open. He walks up and explains that he pulled me over for "tint on my windows". (which i do have however not dark enough that I've ever been pulled over). Hes got a tint reader in his hand and hes talking to me about what I can and can't have on my car. I mind you this guy's face is within 5 inches of my face. his arm is in my car while he's talking to me. He was pretty much IN my car talking to me. Again the only thing I can think is "wow I am way too high for this" He takes the reading and walks away before coming back. He asks if i have any warrants, outstanding problems or anything I respond "no" and he says he'll "be right back".

So a K9 Unit pulls up and parks behind him. The 2 guys get out and start talking. So now i'm thinking...great I'm more fucked. I can see them talking up a storm, pointing and laughing. I'm not sure what to do at this point and I'm assuming that he smelled the blunt and is debating how difficult hes about to make my life. Then out of nowhere the K9 unit leaves the guy comes back to my car to talk. He explains how I can fight it and such. Hes loading me up with information on the court system and dates and such and all I can think once again is "wow I am fucking blazed right now" .Then he hands me the ticket and tells me to have a nice day.

Yea...I don't know how much I believe in Karma but I must be doing something right. I've always been overcautious if I blaze while driving and I guess it paid off here. Guys always keep a window cracked, keep ur car clean (no guts, stems, etc) , and have a "just in case" plan to ditch the blunt. The minute those lights hit u, u'll shit bricks. You'll forget everything you've ever thought to do "if this ever happens". Next rest stop I smoked the rest of the blunt to my head and just relaxed there for a while. It was one of the best blunts I've smoked in a long time. Watch yourselves out there guys. Blaze on!

Nice post man!! do you think the cop actually smelled the blunt or not... to me it seems he did smell it but figured you weren't anyone transporting and weren't too high to be driving but who knows. I had a close call once when i was waiting for a friend to sneak out of their house so i was just cruising the neighborhood at like 11pm and a cop pulled me over I had just smoke a joint in the car 15 minutes before but luckily i used to smoke cigs back than so he just left after asking what i was doing there

I think I just got extremely lucky, like within a hair of a margin. Its a state trooper. Those guys are never having a good day and their trained to pickup the littlest things that can lead to huge busts. Even if he planned to let me go Im sure he would confiscate anything he thought I had and want answers to a butt ton of questions. I would say between the window being open and my story checking out I didn't arouse any suspicion. I also wasn't speeding or anything outrageous so he likely wasn't in a very investigative or accusative mood. I talked to him very calmly (because i was stoned as fuck) and I did throw in a piece of gum before he came back the second time but im sure it made no difference if he didnt pickup the smell initially. I looked in my rear view mirror and looked high as shit but then again many times if people don't know you, they don't know what you're like when you're high.

That cop must have some olfactory problems. Cracking a window is not enough to get the smell out of a car in less than 5 minutes. You are just lucky you came across a cop that cant smell. If were you i would have swallowed that blunt the second i saw blue lights.

You also made a pretty bad mistake in going for your info before he gets to the car he could think you are pulling a gun.

Sounds like a really nice cop to me. He and his buddy were probably just talking and laughing about him catching someone high as hell (unlike other drug users, lots of people find stoners funny).

You are SO lucky, especially since you didn't get rid of the blunt.

I'm going to have to agree with Steakii here. Cracking a window for a few minutes isn't enough to cleanse a vehicle of the stinch of weed. You got very lucky.

Wow that is one crazy story. I try to not smoke and drive ever just because it isn't the safest thing to do and is one of the only ways to get caght. I would of shit my pants the second I saw the lights so at least he wouldn't of smelled the weed on me.
