| The equal rights is coming along great. Considering we have both a black man and a white woman running for office right now. Thank you for the question. |

| I dunno, to all the pro-Tibet protesters - it isn't as if I don't think the principle of what you are doing is quite virtuous (because I do), it's more that, similar to MC, I don't believe it will accomplish anything more than further alienating us from China and more than likely making things even worse for the Tibetans. Much of the globe already considers us the 'world police,' and it only makes sense that this habit we seem to have of intervening in other countries' domestic affairs is only escalating the situation. Were you aware that there was also a black man vying for the Republican nomination this year? Last edited by Andrew87 : 04-09-2008 at 06:56 AM. | |

Majority of the civil rights marches happened in the 60's. Roughly 20 years after the assassination of Martin Luther King(non violent protests), Jesse Jackson was the first Black person to run for President in decision '84. He paved the way to such people as Al Sharpton and even Barack Obama. Again, Getting a vast amount of people in the same place to spread awareness and put the message in our consciousness to make the change. Sure, its not automatic. But as Andrew has shown and proven me wrong that after the protests it has opened the door for many bright Americans to take the Highest office in the nation. Has anyone watched the news today? The protests are getting HUGE in San Francisco. I for one, wish I could be there. | |
