Is this a social phenomena or what.... I guess by now everyone has heard about or seen the video of the girls delivering the beat down to the other girl, right? What is going on here? I need to speak to a teenager. So I did........

My sixteen year old son told me that beat-downs happen all the time! Is this true? Kids get lured into houses and then get beat up for an imaginary slight? What's going on? The strange thing about it is my son got a message on My-Space about it, and a link to check it out right after I talked to him about it........

Small world, huh?

I've only heard about someone getting jumped at a house once, and it was a bunch of crips who were seniors. but fights are stupidly common.

Yeah, it's really common. I've seen a few. One time I was in downtown Dallas, and some guy in front of me got confronted by a guy. I didn't hear what they said, but the guy shrugged his head no. The guy that confronted the guy did a 'come here' motion and 6 dudes ran up on him and beat this guy down in daylight. I don't know if the guy knew who he was or not. At the end, the guy was very badly beaten and I held on to one guy as the cops came. To my knowledge, the guy snitched and all the guys were found guilty and sent to jail.

Ok....I have went to school as they say. My son showed me the ones he knew about. I don't know if I'm confortable with this or not. I know that gang initiation is like this in some gangs, but what is this "gang attack" mentality that's going on? This wasn't a fight, this was a pack of wolves going after a sheep.

I mean, she could of fought back, but what if she had? She would of just took a worse ass whipping, right?

I heard on the news tonight that the girls in the video are going to be tried as adults, and are being held under thirty-thousand dollar bond each.

Ya know why I'm not confortable with this? I have always held to man on man. I just see no honor in a beat down........

I don't know man.... It seems like if you got a friend with you, he might as well help you beat down this guy....otherwise, he's just standing there, you know?

When I got jumped, it was crazy. I couldn't have taken on any of those guys by myself, but I had three people all throwing punches at my face, with one of them holding me back to boot....

Fights aren't something to be avoided in today's world. Today they are "business" and every precaution is taken to make sure that you are the winner.

But come on, boys will be boys. I know there were a lot of fights in your high school ded. SOme guy stole some girl from someone, and they meet behind the building after last period. Things like that have always gone down.

I first saw this violent event on Nancy Grace a few days ago and although fairly brutal it didn’t surprise me in the least. People just don’t act right these days, especially adolescents. Some teenager sends a friend a text message and the next thing you know you end up with a double homicide. We will continue to see more of these events with greater frequency I’m afraid.

I've seen very, very bad "Beat downs," quite a few times. I've never been involved in one (although I have been in a few fights), mainly because I don't put myself into situations where it could occur, god knows I've pissed enough people off.

Some. But, we never saw 13 take on one at a time, and we did just say, "Hey, let's take it up after school." Then, we gathered up our posse, and he gathered up his. Then we would meet and have it out. We rolled as a crew because we didn't want this to happen........

I don't know about this one.......Is that the honorable thing to do? Have your friend help you? Or, does honor not matter anymore? The honor of the duel has been replaced by the mob rule?

I don't know. I was raised a different way, perhaps. Taught different things. I know about overwhelming force. I was in the Marines. If I have a problem with some one, I will handle it. The people I ran with years ago had the same code. If someone jumped in a fight I was in, I would be as mad at him as the guy I was fighting. To me that would of been as bad as fighting an old person or a cripple or something. If I needed all that help for one person, I sure as hell don't amount to much..........
