I got this on myspace. A friend of mine sent this to me. My passion is art, everything I see, I see in an art form. If I look at something, I say to myself, "I could paint that, and this would be a great piece of art..." To me, this is not art, but a sick form of animal cruelty. Anyways, I got this today and it really pissed me off. Me, being a vegetarian, I am really pissed off...

In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took
a dog from the street,
tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved
him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of
the exhibition have
watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based
on the dog's agony,
until eventually he died.

I only posted one because it seriously bummed me out. But, the reason I am posting this here is because you can sign the petition and stop all of this.

Isnt this consider animal cruelty? Shouldnt this "artist" face criminal penalties? This is horrible anyone who finds this to be art is messed up in the head to put it lightly

What about the pictures? and if you google the dude it seems all legit.. I don't think this one is false man.

it's real. it happened in costa rica. the artist was using the dog and people's reactions to it to illustrate the hypocrisy of the people who let thousands of animals die every day on the streets of starvation without a second thought. it was apparently a stray who the artist claims would have starved to death on the street, anyway... Right. I read similar stories as feedyourhead. He did it to expose humans as "hypocritical sheep". He also claimed (along with the gallery owner) that the dog was only starved for three hours every day (the time that the gallery was exhibited).

I can produce links showing both sides of the argument... but I am more prone to consider someone innocent until proven guilty.

If he was starved only 3 hours a day, wouldn't he be alive? Unless he died of something besides starvation.
