Default Any Dyslexic Smokers?

So I am dyslexic, and I was curious if there are any other dyslexic smokers here.

I'm curious how dyslexia affects being high.

For those of you that don't know much about dyslexia, its alot more than just flipping letters... the dyslexic mind is completely visual and relies heavily on images for everything from thinking to reading (which causes letters to be flipped).

When I'm high, I usually see the same stuff as I can see when not high, only heavily amplified when it comes to clarity and detail.

Shibshib, it depends on the level of dyslexia person has, as to how much they're reliant on pictures.

I have a very, very manageable and mild dyslexia. It doesn't effect my life, sober or high, anymore, and I might as well not have it. Unless I'm under extreme stress I don't even have to think about managing it, and when I am under extreme stress I only have to keep it in the back of my mind or my 6's turn to 9's and b's and d's and it all gets mildly annoying.

I don't think I have dyslexia, maybe some type, but very mild. When writing numbers, sometimes(15 for example) I'll write the 5 first, then have to squeeze in the 1 infront of it. I don't have a problem flipping letters though.

I imagine that must be a pain for someone who's as interested in physics as you. All those pesky equations.

c2m = e!

I don't have dyslexia per se, but sometimes when I'm reading I'll read a word below the line I'm on and get a little discombobulated. It doesn't happen often, though.

I have dyslexia. I have problems with spelling simple words, and flipping letters around (b,d etc.) which is why I get extra time on standardized tests and the SAT. It's hard to say if dyslexic people get high differently, but I guess we'll never know because I've never not been dyslexic.

describe your high =)

My main thing is like... I feel "good" when I get high, but I never "trip"... like, I'll see patterns and stuff sometimes, especially if its dark or I close my eyes... but I see those same patterns when I'm not high... they are just less intense.

I was lucky that by the time I was 7 I could control it when I concentrated, and by the time I was 10, I could actually do it without thinking about it (which was nice, because when I concentrated, I got headaches like mad), which meant that by the time I developed a real interest in physics, around the age of 12, I could read novels, or decipher an equations without knocking back half a bottle of Advil™.

You are *very* lucky.

It is indeed possible to "fix" dyslexia as long as the child isn't older than about 6-7 years old. After that, the part of the brain which is affected is developed and finished and nothing can change it.

You still get all the benefits of a dyslexic mind, however, you have trained the part of your brain which handles character recognition.

I'm not certain I believe that... either that there are any "benefits" to having a dyslexic mind, much less that if there are any they outweigh the disadvantage (difficult reading).

Dyslexia is just a structural difference in the Written language portion of the brain, I'm not certain that there are any inherent benefits or downsides (other than the obvious). And, if there are, I most certainly haven't noticed any. I also don't believe I have "fixed" the problem, I'm simply masking it.
