They just want allot of kids to have higher odds on one of the kids winning the lottery or becoming a wealthy millionaire.

Only joking. I think it's okay to have allot kids. Why not? Thinking from the future. I can see technology develop to where we could build city's all across America just like Tokyo or NYC. Which, in a fairly small area, allot of people live.

I guess its only morally wrong if the parents are aware that they cannot look after the children and still continue to have them. If the parents are capable and ready to have as many children as they like, let them.

Easter Island shows us the future. Once it had a thriving society capable of raising the huge stone monoliths. They all were wiped out when they cut down all the trees and the animals and food supply was decimated. Overpopulation had the survivors living on the beach, trying to survive on seafood and grass. The scientists know this from poop piles that they found. It was always supposed to be a big mystery what happened to them.....It's not anymore.......

I don't see anything wrong with having a lot of kids if you can love and support them. If you have the means to see to it that they are well taken care of I see nothing wrong with it.

What really gets me is the people who shouldn't be having any kids at all; crack heads and the like, they even think about having sex and they're pregnant with another one, while at the same time my wife and I have been trying for over four years to have a child with no success. It just gets really frustrating.

Half are put here to die before they reach the age of 5. The rest are put here to die from disease, bad nutrition, injury, and wear-and-tear before their 45th birthdays.

Technology has changed that. If humans are going to remove the natural checks and balances that prevent overpopulation, it is their duty to manage the other end of the process and control their rate of reproduction.

If every couple had a dozen children, within the next 30 years we'd be having wars over rice and wheat. Billions would starve and we'd probably nuke ourselves out of existence.

And assuming the aggregate now is between 2.5 & 3 children per couple a fair paraphrase might be -
If every couple had approximately 2.7 children, within the next century (+ -), we'd be having wars over rice and wheat. Billions would starve and we'd probably nuke ourselves out of existence.

That said, I'd say, regardless of the minimal difference in time frame, we're fairly buggered unless we find an reasonable way to slow the birthrate down.
And since that's not going to happen short of the most egregious and draconian means, then I say we encourage everyone to procreate like rabbits.
In that hope lies an exponentially higher % of someone being born who comprehends a new manifestation on the essence of survival ...
