| I've smoked a total of 7 times now, first time was on the friday before 4/20 The first 6 times were great, I enjoyed it a lot However, graduation night came and I took 4 hits from a blunt. At first it felt really really tingly, then I was overcome with guilt from letting my dad down. I told my friends I needed to leave and that I didn't feel good. My friend (who was staying clean that night) agreed to take me home. It took me forever to make it down the stairs and I had to stop 2 or 3 times. I tripped over a bush tryin to get to the car. In the car I felt soooo motion sick. Every little move the car made was making me sick. Finally we got to his house. The smell of his garage (which I didn't really like in the first place) made me want to vomit. I sat at his kitchen table and tried to eat some cheez itz, which completely ruined my appetite cause they were so dry. I tried to get rid of the dryness with root beer which tasted even more disgusting. Finally I told him to help me get up the stairs to lay in bed. I could barely make it up the stairs and had to stop at the top step. I nearly vomited and went in his room instead of the guest room to lay down for a minute cause I had to swallow some back. Eventually I was able to make it to the guest room and lay there for about 20 minutes before falling asleep. Does this sound like the worst case of being high ever? Is it always like this when you get really high? |

| No, this isn't what getting "really high" is usually like. From the sounds of things, you experienced your first panic attack. A variety of factors could have triggered it, anything from the weed being more potent than you're used to, the nicotine in the blunt may have had a role, but more than anything, I'm guessing your own guilt is what actually triggered it. Do a search for "panic attacks" and you'll be amazed at the number of people who have had experiences similiar to your own.

| Yeah, that sounds really unfortunate. On your graduation night, too....I remember having a blast on my graduation party.... It sounds like anxiety/panic attacks, like TM said. There are all sorts of things you can do to prevent them. Usually after your first panic attack, you can sense when it's about to happen again, so you can stop it. Beware the next time you smoke: if you are expecting it to happen again, it probably will.

| Something similar happened to me awhile ago after smoking a blunt (at least the motion sickness while driving) and I'm sure it was because of how much tobacco my friend mixed in and the end of it was all tobacco yet I was still taking huge drags (yuck). Anyways the best thing to do in your situation would be to take deep breaths, realize it's not as bad as you're making it because that does sound like a panic attack, and get some real food. The food will make you come down a little bit while still having a good high which you can enjoy. I remember eating doritos and they seriously tasted like cement, just making it worse.. so yeah, even fast food like Taco Bell would be good. Also, don't dwell on things that are going to make you feel guilt or depression, because your mind tends to wander pretty easily and it can take away from the experience. |

| I've had these happen from time to time, and it could be one of many things.

| Yeah, same thing happens to me with blunts. It might just be that there's so much more weed than usual, or it could be the tobacco combination that people have talked about. The guilt defiantly played a role too. Here's my prognosis: Marijuana bolsters your senses. When you smoke a lot, your senses may become overstimulated. This can lead even pleasing sensations, such as the smell of burning incense, to become offensive. It's no wonder that cheeze-its and garage smell bothered you! To combat this, stay in a well lit room, and try to sip water. No air freshener, no febreeze, no Axe, no incense. Thats worked for me in the past. Manage your sense of panic. Sometimes it might seem like your in a "high-world", and that coming back to the real world (often by opening your eyes, or concentrating) is nauseating and unpleasant. Don't let this worry you. Just relax, and tell yourself that you are in control. As for motion sickness, lay on a bed and plant your foot firmly on the ground. Tell yourself that you are not moving, and that you are on a bed in a room. This really does help. It's all mental. And, most of all, know when to stop! WingedYoshi has it right, you've got some chill friends, so rest easy.![]() |

| Were you drinking as well as smoking? It sounds like it from your description of your symptoms. Marijuana potentiates (makes stronger) the effects of most other drugs, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the effects of the other drugs. This sounds a lot more like being too drunk than too high. On rare occasions, too much marijuana can lead to nausea, but it's usually a drug that prevents or relieves nausea.

At least like you said it wasn't the entire night. At least you had fun before right? And I am sure you'll have more memories. | |

| Hmmm. In my years of smoking I've never really gotten sick. Maybe you smoked way to much or this was bad weed. Are you sure it wasnt cat nip or oregano? When I'm high I get sad over the dumbest things, when I'm high I'm more sensitive to my emotions, taste, smell all that stuff. If your letting your dad down by smoking weed and its really bothering you, I would suggest not doing it. It might just happen again. |
