I would have said something about this sooner... but I just read it. Now I have to wait for the emotional haze to clear... ok.

Think about how insensitive this was. It once was illegal to be gay - very much so, and in a lot of places. It wasn't ever quite illegal to female, but frankly, for all that it may as well have been - and in some countries it's still hardly worth being born if you are going to be female. Here in the US, we [women] are STILL struggling to get equal pay for equal work, and assorted other vicious injustices so insidious they are hard to discuss without being dismissed out of hand by some good ol' boy hoping to continue to tread water in the grand paternal ocean of the status quo.

Considering women are STILL struggling just to be treated as human beings in some places, I think it is safe to say pot smokers are NOT being more heinously vilified that gays or women.

Tragically that is true, and I did not intend for anything I said to downplay the severity of the suffering of ANY group or individual living within an unpopular subculture of any kind.
