Nuclear weapons. We have bombs large enough to take out the state of Michigan in a single blast. We have lots and lots of these bombs.

Its not just US who have these bombs, much of the world has access to these weapons.

The population of this planet is approaching 7 billion more than ever existed at any one time in all of recorded history. All having different ideas about humanity. We have got to admit, that there is a small percentage of people that are totally fucked up in the head. Some people will hurt or kill others just for the fun of it. Others will kill people because their government told them, and still others will murder because their religion tells them too.

With 7 billion people we are bound to have a few smart, yet fucked up people.

With the proliferation of knowledge and technology it is becoming cheaper and easier to produce atomic bombs. With the right funding, I could build a nuclear weapon, and if I could, there are plenty of sick fucks that could.

Eventually, probably sooner than later people who shouldn't have access to nuclear weapons will. Whether it is simply an accident or done on purpose, nuclear bombs will start flying, and once they start flying they won't stop until everyone is dead.

How long will it be, a week, a month, a year? 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? I don't know, but I would be happily surprised if it doesn't happen within my lifetime. I am more willing to say that if it does happen, it will happen within the next 5 years given the escalating tensions around the world.

I know that almost every generation since the dawn of civilization has been predicting the impending end of existence, but I think this is different. I really do think we have a chance of completely snuffing out the human race and soon.

The worst part is, I don't think there is anything we can do about it now.

So don't live your life in fear that the blast is coming any time now. Live your life to the fullest. Make sure you are satisfied with life and that the things you do make you happy or satisfied. If you aren't happy or satisfied now you may never be.
