This is only in Florida, if I'm not mistaken. Florida residents do not pay state income taxes, so which taxes are paying for this program?

The real tragedy is that the people who can contribute the most to paying taxes have found ways to pay the least amount. While those who can barely afford to pay, contribute the most.

No the real tragedy is that someone can take another persons money for their personal benefit. Im not making alot of money i get 9.20 a hour so don't paint me out to be some millionaire that smokes tree and goes on marijuana.com while i sit on my trust fund. I just thought it made sense that no one has a right to the goods your produce using your time, energy, and talents.

That is pretty sad. There is a simple fix for that also, a flat tax. Everyone pays the same percentage (though actual amounts would vary greatly). Getting rid of the draconian tax code in this country would also eliminate all those loopholes that those "who can contribute the most" use to "find ways to pay the least"...

Actually it's the other way around. What we need is a fair tax or a flat tax. The reason your wrong is because if you want health care well they plan on taxing the rich not the poor. National health care is a sham but that's another topic. Basically most taxs come from the rich already. Busness pay double tax as it is. They pay a payroll tax and then an income tax. So please don't say poor pay more

Actually Vicki, thats incorrect. As for whose paying...probably you, me and everyone else, in some way. Don't you love the "redistribution of wealth" in this country? Somehow, these "free" cell phones are getting paid for, and I sincerely doubt its by the good hearted cell phone providers.....

Ok, I was wrong that it is only in Florida. I don't know why I thought that. Well, at least I know Florida does not pay state income taxes, so that's not how their getting my tax money. So, are they taking it from our sales tax? Property taxes that we need for our schools? Now I'm curious.

Same thing happens here in new mexico. All the navajos who live on the reservation get free cell phone service. Also, they get free houses and dont have to pay rent. Kinda pisses me off because we baught their land for $23.00 and a few bottles of whiskey.

HA. Wow, your mad cause you had to give them 23 dollars and they get free housing and cell phones? Have you taken a History class? because if you have, you'd realize we fucked those people over so bad many years ago. They deserve everything we CAN give them, IMO.

Back on topic, Vicki they must have something set up to take bits of sales tax..at least for Floridians.

This guy seems to think it's a ploy to get undocumented aliens cell phone service:
Exposing the government’s cell-phones-for-the-poor scam
