| honestly, Evolution IS a intergral part of biology. It really isn't a belief, rather than just an explaination for the world around us. Creationism cannot predict any of the breakthroughs that evolution can, esp with Molecular Systematics and Genetics. Evolution is not a belief. Essentially picture science as a murder scene. Evolution is the pre-supposed theory of what happened. It so far has held up with every mystery we've thrown at it. Until we can find a theory that fits the evidence better, we will stick with evolution. -I'm a Uni Bio student at a very prestigious Canadian University. |

Lol I'm not homophobic, so its all good. Basically that is how we were taught in 11th grade AP biology to look at it. My teacher on the first day of class was like "listen, about this evolution/creationism crap, we're going to use evolution exclusively. If you've got a problem with this, write me an essay explaining the predictive powers of creationism, instead of critisizing our evolutionary theories. Even if you don't believe in evolution, science obliges you to use the most valid theory to explain phenomenon." I've never forgotten that speach

| Well as of now our current theory of evolution blows creationism out of the water. Don't even get me started on "intelligent design" (ironically enought developed by morons). As I see it there is one major flaw with evolution. Natural selection is founded on the idea of survival of the fittest. This centers things around competition for limited resources in order to better survive. I think focus should be placed (and evolutionarily has been centered around) cooperation rather than competition. |

Outside of molecular systematics, I find that the ecological ramifications of altruism and co-evolution fascinating.
