| In theory our economy would flourish if we had a fake world war and created factories to pump out tanks, aircraft and trucks...then recycle the materials to do it all over again. Well, to a point...we'd have to inflate the economy even more.

| Not everything needs to be monetized. Doctors make very good money under socialized medicine, and that isn't even close to what the current administration is proposing. If doctors want to make more money, they can become investment bankers. The field of medicine is about helping people, not getting rich. |

| Thats why medical school is so cheap right? I mean, its about helping people, so they just give that education away right? Student loans alone bury most begining Dr's under a mountain of debt. Not only that, but are you clueless as to what the average dr has to spend on malpracticve insurance and whatnot due to the overwhelming number of frivolous claims filed against them? Furthermore, I think Dr's deserve every penny they typically make, at least as much if not moreso than the investment banker you believe is someone how naturally entitled to being rich than a Dr should be. I think if you rise to the top of your field, you deserve to be rich in any field. No one said that helping people shouldn't be profitable. If that was the case, we'd deny wages to fireman, police officers, Emergency responders, and bascially every other field of public service. Considering the expense and intelligence it takes to become a modern doctor, I don't believe they are any less enetitled to make a profit than any other profession, and if they get rich along the way, so be it. Most people don't get rich being a failure in their given field.

Not to say that they aren't paid well under many fully socialized healthcare systems. They are. | |

Because socialized healthcare would work better than a capitalist setup? That's like saying the USPS is better than FedEx because USPS is government run and FedEx isn't, when in fact FedEx is a much better, more efficient company than the USPS simply for the fact that USPS is government run. IMO, a government-run program is just a less efficient, more beaurecratic version of a capitalist business. Do this to the health care system and I guarantee it will be a disaster. If the government can barely even run the DMV, I doubt they'd be any better at running health services.
