At least until the mid term election when congress (but probaly won't) go the the democrats.

NCLB is facing strong opposition from the education community, I expect resistance to grow as that foolish mess deepens.

Lol, I was just thinking about how if the Dems really get their backs up it could cost them more seats in the House. There are still some rural Dems out their. There are also some Senate seats in 08 that I think the Republicans could target if the Dems are to obstructionist (sp?).

You are confused. Kerry was gonna raise taxes. Bush won, you won't get any more tax increases.

If things go wrong in the country there is noone to blame but the republicans. (rightly or wrongly) Alot can happen in 2 and 4 years that could change the political landcape. Clinton faced a republican landslide during his mid term election and had to battle Newt. The same things *could* happen to Bush.

Sure, but consider how long reforming SS is likely to take. Not just one or even two sessions I would guess. Barring a tanking economy I think Bush will have some clout. I think '06 is gonna be all about the economy.

I'm haven't said anything in this thread because I'm confident Bush's second term is going to speak for itself.

However, I did hear this rumor being peddled by CNN and other news sources that ASHCROFT may be on his way out in a week or two.

If that's true, it will be a good day for all of us cannabis smokers. Maybe you die hard Bush supporters can convince the president to put someone a little more moderate and a little more mainstream in the Attorney General's office.

Afterall, GWB has already won. He doesn't have to please any voting segment with his next AG appointment.
