|  Could the loss have saved the democratic party? This is just a wild guess, but considering the situation the democrats would have inherited had they won, (mainly the mess in Iraq and the enormous defecit) is it in their best interests that they lost? If they had screwed it up really badly (which would be pretty easy) the democrats might not be elected again for another 40 years! Its going to be hard for the republicans to hold it together!

| This reminds me of a thread a couple months ago, where I said I wouldn't mind if Bush was elected (yes I said elected  ) so he can finally clean up his own mess. That way, whatever does happen it's entirely the Repubs/Bush Adminstration's fault, whether that's good or bad I'm not holding my breath.
