Let's see, an execution of a bound, unarmed, female noncombatant prisioner....I hate to say it again.

BUT WHERE $#)*%! IS THE OUTRAGE?

Why does that link goto the fallujah offensive page? Is it because everyone is talking about the unarmed Iraqi man in the Fallujah mosque shot?

From the article:

Quote:
The video apparently shows a militant firing a pistol into the head of a blindfolded woman wearing an orange jumpsuit.
Wow, another unarmed person shot in the head. Thankfully it wasn't the US perpetrating it this time. Well . . . those insurgents who shot an unarmed woman are cowards. I hope we root them out and kill them.

Now they should burn in hell, that was a selfless woman who dedicated her life to helping the poor iraqy people, and they kill her?

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

" In true Islam, they don't kill women and young children. We only kill those who fight us and kill our people" 'al-Qaeda in Iraq'

Killing woman and children is bullsh*t, and is only done by the lowest scum on this earth.

It is a bloody outrage and the kidnappers deserve the death penalty as this lady wasn't just any ordinary care worker but had lived and worked in Iraq for the past 30 years.

But rightly or wrongly, you do know that the US is being held to a higher moral standard don't you?

Why you may ask? I believe it is because the US is proclaiming to hold the high moral ground in Iraq in regards to their actions and reasons for invasion.

Yes the U.S. has the moral high ground...and should maintain it. However there is virtually no criticism for the other side's atrocities. The 'resistance' in this war is doing some truly horrible things. Not only killing this woman, but the decapitations and the mass executions. Wasn't last week when 21 or so unarmed Iraqi national guardsmen were taken prisoner and killed? That received passing coverage and is almost forgotten. Are we going to leave it to the future revisionist historians to shed light on the inhumanity of this 'resistance?'

I fully admit that some resistance to an invasion is legitimate, but what is going on in Iraq now is unacceptable by any sense my ethics or morals.

The US is being held to a higher standard, and rightly so in my opinion. However, I think it's a serious mistake to not make at least the effort to hold the other side to an equally high standard.

Why should one side be given a pass for atrocities the other is rightly grilled for?

I can see no good moral or liberal reason to accept lower base human standards of conduct for any party in this situation. I think to do so grants a certain degree of tacit approval of such actions to the “insurgents.” It’s condescension of ethics.

It's pretty simple . . . we invaded their country on false pretenses. We knew full well that people in the region use these cowardly terrorist tactics and have for a long time. Therefore, the world isn't crying any crocodile tears for us since we're the ones who insisted on invading. We made the bed, now we get to lie in it.

On the other hand, when we're acting like the savages we're taking a big step backward. That's the difference. No one is expecting anything less from the insurgents, we're all expecting more from America.

It's almost like all those people marching against this stupid war knew what they were talking about.

also, least we forget that Iraq wasn't a peaceful happy safe place prior to the invasion.

and of course, " false pretenses." is highly debatable.
