Victorian police trial new drug testing program

Victorian police expect to randomly test up to 9,000 drivers during a 12-month drug testing trial beginning next month.

The trial targets drivers who may have traces of cannabis or methamphetamine in their system.

If found guilty they will face fines of about $300, plus the loss of three demerit points from their license.

Assistant Commissioner Bob Hastings says the program is designed to make the roads safer.

"It will be a targeted operation," he said.

"Really this is about focussing on perhaps the heavy transport industry where we know that those people use these sorts of drugs, rave parties and the precincts around there where we know this sort of activity occurs.

"So it will be targeted operations focussing on those high drug usage areas," he said.

This operation was commenced yesterday and friends and I are a bit nervous. I have found many ways to coverup urine and hair testing but i cant find any quick fix way to cover up the saliva tests. I'm not sure what method they're using aswell.If you can help or offer any suggestions please do.... somke on.. Z
