Anyhoo, could you imagine a bag full of bud and Cheebs, HH, Plains and I all sitting around smoking and talking politics? (I'd have to invite Niteshift, too - after the smokin'-up was over, of course. )

But yeah, compared to the reaction after 911 or 211 there seemed to be more anti-islamism than in the US or Spain.

Anyhoo, I just saw Van Gogh's last film "may 6th/0605 the movie" and it was a masterpiece. Much better than the pamphlet "submission". It should get a Palme d'or and an Oscar. There's a fictitious plot that the Fortuyn murder was a conspiracy between the Dutch intelligence service and the Dutch and American military industrial complex because Fortuyn opposed the Joint Fight Striker project. When the Americans are told Fortuyns successor Herben (former secretary of defense spokesman, freemason) is a big fan of the project and doesn't need a bribe they conclude "I thought we were the bad guys" - briljant.

The real strenght of the movie is the authentic footage used of Fortuyn and politicians claiming Anne Frank died for nothing, another calling Fortuyn an "inferior human" and activists throwing a pie with sh!t in his face to a comment in the newspaper editorial that appeared the day he was shot about the "horrible idea" of Fortuyn being PM at the may 4th WW2 national remebrance ceremony.

Maybe because a larger percentage of your population are Muslim immigrants? Anyhoo, I wonder what the world reaction would be if that level of (understandable IMHO, as far as such things go anyway) anti-Muslim prejudice happened in the US?

What scares me is that a magazine like NewsDay would PUBLISH this poll...

With all the errors, it was published and people read it and absorbed the figures and accepted this information as reality. Most folks won't hear more about this than a soundbyte and will take the statement as gospel.

People are softened up to accept the next "limitation" on rights just a little too easily.

It is just too reminiscent of the rise of Facism in eastern Europe for me to lower my personal "alert" system.

Call me paranoid...

Wouldn't this "poll" and accompanying news article serve to scare people the other way? It seems to me that this story will make people hyper sensitive to discrimination, not less so.
