Default Americans robbed by US Gov't.

From:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/02/03/fbi...ers/index.html

Quote:
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A report investigating the FBI's efforts to upgrade its computer software to help agents better communicate and analyze information found that millions of dollars and years of work have been largely wasted.

"After more than three years and $170 million expected to be spent developing the Virtual Case File, the FBI has not provided a clear timetable or prospect for completing the VCF," said the report released Thursday by the Justice Department Inspector General Glenn Fine.

"In the interim, the critical need to replace the FBI's obsolete case management system remains," concludes the 81-page report.

The FBI had recently admitted the Virtual Case File technology, which had been delivered by contractor Science Applications International Corp., had failed to meet the bureau's requirements and that much of the time and effort invested had been lost.

The FBI has established a short-term project in its New Orleans office to determine whether any portion of the VCF project can be salvaged. [SNIP]
We "have to" reform social security because we can't sustain it (so the story goes). We can't afford health care for our people. But we do have a couple hundred billion to squander in Iraq, and we do have $170 million for the FBI to waste.

We need to demand a refund. I'm tired of being defrauded by my government.

. . . but who am I kidding? What's a measly $170 million compared to $9 billion?

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp..._ea/iraq_funds
Quote:
WASHINGTON - The U.S. occupation authority in Iraq (news - web sites) was unable to keep track of nearly $9 billion it transferred to government ministries, which lacked financial controls, security, communications and adequate staff, an inspector general has found.

The U.S. officials relied on Iraqi audit agencies to account for the funds but those offices were not even functioning when the funds were transferred between October 2003 and June 2004, according to an audit by a special U.S. inspector general.

The findings were released Sunday by Stuart Bowen Jr., special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction. Bowen issued several reports on the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), the U.S. occupation government that ruled Iraq from June 2003 to June 2004.

The official who led the CPA, L. Paul Bremer III, submitted a blistering, written reply to the findings, saying the report had "many misconceptions and inaccuracies," and lacked professional judgment.

Bremer complained the report "assumes that Western-style budgeting and accounting procedures could be immediately and fully implemented in the midst of a war."

The inspector general said the occupying agency disbursed $8.8 billion to Iraqi ministries "without assurance the moneys were properly accounted for."

So they'd have to lose how much for that, 900 Billion? Which would be about what, $60 of your money? Alwell, I'm Canadian, so it's not my money their throwing away.

It is fairly well known that I'm an advocate for small government and socialized medicine. This is because I'm and advocate of freedom, and it is my opinion that the government is here to serve the people. I also believe that providing assured medical care for citizens increases their freedom by allowing them to search for careers they would like to persue, instead of traping them in careers they hate simply because their employers offer medical benefits.

Afterall, many people would rather have a bad job they can tolerate than look for a job they might enjoy. Especially when they're faced with the reality of losing their employer's medical coverage in a country where medical expenses are astronomical.

Every time I mention socialized medicine the opposition will step in with arguments about how they don't want to pay more taxes for someone elses medical bills.

Yet . . . as Happyman has demonstrated, they don't give a damn about blatantly being stolen from. It's the idea that their money might help somebody else that really rubs them raw.

I don't think we have to raise taxes to give America's citizens medical care. I think we could do it by simply stopping the government from wasting and losing our money.

Small government and socialized medicine? ...Do you know what an oxymoron is?

What?

He's demonstrated that he's simply not willing to follow Zilo's advice for civil war based upon 60 cents per person. How the hell did you get "It's the idea that their money might help somebody else that really rubs them raw" out of that?
