| I don't know, did they? Would you like me to list educated, white, "not poor" convicts for you? ![]()

| Should felons be able to vote? Yes. So should people under the age of 18. And making voting a national holiday sounds good too. Then the kiddies would have school off and could all go vote right? ![]() |

The more I press you on felons rights being restored in Florida the more you have to amend and qualify your statement that Florida felons DO get their voting rights back. Some of them do, and others obviously do not. I think all should have their right to vote restored, especially since so many Americans live behind prison walls. Quote:

| Complicate it all you want...........make all the excuses and addendums you want. The bottom line comes back to the fact that you make it sound like if you get arrested for a pot felony, you will never be able to vote again and that is simply not true. It IS possible to getting your voting rights restored. Further, this issue isn't about pot to me. Yeah, I know this is mj.com, but the issue is felons.........that means ALL felons, not just pot related felonies. If this were SOLELY about mj related felonies, I might be less adamant. But it's simply not. |

What is the danger of restoring their rights? I understand that to you it is about punishment, and not about the danger their votes might pose. However, isn't long-term incareceration and possible execution (depending on the felony) supposed to serve as the punishment for the crime? Does the loss of voting rights deter felons from comitting felonies? If not, what is the point? -HH | |
