the face time subject is religion but its actually more cultural--binLaden ( and his followers) thinks that Western Society is corrupt and needs to be stopped.
The excuse is religion but they have such a narrow interprtation of it, its almost not the same religion--like the Branch Davidians-- as Koresh practiced it was not really Christianity ( or B-Dism, according to other B-Ds) think what Koresh could have done with $300million or so--some of them are like some of us, no error.
Poverty may not be the motivation for each individual but living in poverty motivates people to hatred and envy--in todays internet and satellite TV era the havenots are much more aware of being havenots. These are the people terrorists find it easy to recruit, especially if they have been brought up to view the US as the great Satan.
I think that the US is going to have to get down and dirty with these people to win--start selecting em for pruning and doing it--won't be just or democratic but there it is. Unfortunately, the US military is not set up for this other than on a large level--this'll be done with car bombs and silencers, as the Israelis (and Palestinans and Irish) have been doing it for years.
I hope they sweep in a new bunch when it comes to US "intelligence"--theyre just discovering now that al Qaeda is in 86 countries? Thats almost as many as Mcdonalds. why can they find this out so quick after a tragedy but not before? They better spend more time bribing the right people
Does this mean we don't have to buy a zillion$$ new anti missle system?

My theory is:
Those who kill themself do it because of their religious belief and their hatred towards america.
Bin Laden I would say is using the Religion as a tool.
Bin Laden would never kill himself for his religious beliefs, he is not stupid. Can you imagine him with Dynamite on his belt trying to bomb something?
I think not
His Reasons are not Religion, he hates america and wants to earn a lot of money.

To clarify, the intelligence community has had information on these groups for a great many years. The subject has never been so widely discussed before therefor ethe information "coming to light" is just that...information that never needed to come to light before to the general populace.

Now there is an interest in the general readership...the informationis being provided and interested researchers are digging up more.

My personal 2 cents.... It is easy to give into paranoia and fear and distrust. These are forms of fear and fear is the ultimate tool of terror.

Americans are about to be asked to give up some of its conveniences, some of its personal privacy and some of its assumptions of safety this evening by the President on behalf of the Nation.

Please remember that the cost of Liberty must be eternal vigilance.

On the up side, it appears that every bodies favourite herb... has become much less of a reason to bust someone. No one ever hijacked a plane with a doob.
