Overall, pretty good, but one line of his (an applause line, unfortunately) really, really pissed me off:

"...either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

What an incredibly stupid, ignorant, arrogant thing to say. Neutrality is a very important policy of several countries. I'm still trying to figure out how to interpret that line so it leaves space for traditionally neutral countries (ie, Switzerland). I guess the Swiss government supports terrorists because they haven't offered the US support? As I said: stupid, ignorant, arrogant *sighs*

The rest of the speech was quite good, except he overdid the religious 'message'.

The capital T is important. It changes the meaning when you make it personal.

A "terrorist of ideology" is now an oxymoron.

Anybody see the looks on HR Clinton's face? I was never a Clinton fan and I don't suppose I will ever be after watching her.

To me, she looked disinterested/disgusted during the whole deal. I'm not trying to bash her, just wondered if anybody else caught that.

The half-azzed clapping and disinterested look on the face of the junior senator from NY is the subject of a thread on one of the forums I administer. A LOT of people saw it (God bless the camera man for holding on her that long).

One theory is that she just saw her hopes of moving back into the White House in 3 1/2 more years go poof.

After everyone seeing her reaction though, I think the only White House in her future has a white picket fence around it and the closest she'll get to the one on Pennsylvania Ave. is to look through the iron fince with the other tourists.

Moderators don't have to neutral. We do have to discern if our moderating duties are affected by our personal opinions of other members and the current thread/post that they are moderating.

If you are talking about me and what happened in an earlier post, please take your question to either another moderator, administrator or start a different thread about it.

Of course, the fact that I didn't comment on her patriotism or Americanism seems irrelevant to you harrad, but since you bring it up..........

Finally, something we agree 100% on. She wouldn't be on her best day........and not just compared to me either. And I'm so very, very glad that I'm not like her.

I've heard the comments of people who observed and opined the same things and those people voted for Gore. Others, who voted for Clinton (Bill type) saw it.........and the Conservatives all saw it.

Be sarcastic if you want, the world saw it and most noticed it.
