Here comes the bad news, people of the world:

The US has began air strikes against Afghanistan's Taliban rule. Please smoke a bowl and pray for the world in this time of war. Pray the US doesnt bring the world to war, and that the Afghans (or anyone for that matter) dont retaliate with more attacks on any country.

I check the AP, reuters, and CBS every day. (my ol' lady signed up for I-Won so I use her 100 pts as an excuse to kick her off the comp to check the news. )

Maybe I'll check the AF broadcast in a minute. Hmmm....

Any who... tokin and Prayin I've been doing. Many around me didn't understand the visceral reaction I had to the morning of the 11th, mostly because few in our country have seen a building explode, or random body parts, or any of the other images I could draw forward from your mind.

It truly scares me sometimes when I sit and think of it from the other side. Our country is a fat domestic Turkey and the rest of the world are wolves, badgers, and foxes. Even those who are our "friend" surely realize how pathetic we are.

I estimate 3 out of 10 Americans could not survive a true invasion of our soil. Many are too dependent on the creature comforts.

But I also know that of the other seven 3-4 will be making some form of defensive stand.

I also think of how easily the country's power and transportation and communication networks could be disrupted or halted completely.

Sometimes I think too much.

yeah you are thinking too much. you really think we are a turkey? we have the strongest military force on the planet, that whould account for something. less like a turkey and more an wary eyed eagle. show mw a country who's power, trasportation and communication CAN'T be easily disruped, ill show you a country without any of these things in the first place. and the 3 out of 10 estimate pffft.. i know i got a gun, do you? we have a very well armed general population. a "true" invasion on our soil would be beaten back so quickly it wouldn't make the front page. are you people unwilling to fight? I'm not, and no other true american should be either.

Maybe not that fast, but the well armed populice of the US was mentioned specifically by Japanese military planners during WW2 and Soviet military planners during the Cold War as very serious obstacles to overcome. In fact, the Japanese considered that to be the biggest reason NOT to actually invade the US.
