That's very interesting but I've seen other information about bunker busters that disagrees with some of what's stated in the animation.

From HowStuffWorks' article, "How Bunker Busters Work":

When the bomb hits the earth, it is like a massive nail shot from a nail gun. In tests, the GBU-28 has penetrated 100 feet (30.5 meters) of earth or 20 feet (6 meters) of concrete.

The animation says that bunker busters only penetrate "a few meters". I saw a demo video in which a GBU-28 penetrated three two-meter thick reinforced concrete walls.

If this is even close to accurate, the collateral damages from such a strike would far outweigh the benefits, and might set off a far more dangerous chain reaction of events.

Unless there is a 100% guarentee of success, GW would have to be insane to try it. The fallout (pun intended) in the Arab world would be terrible ( can anybody say embargo). The Jihadists would be out in force and if GW thought the terrorists were bad now, every third muslim would be signing up for the suicide bomber squadron.

Not NUCLEAR bunker busters.....theres a significant difference between a bunker buster using a standard explosive warhead, and one that is carrying a nuclear payload

No one has crossed that line yet by using low yield, application specific, nuclear devices. I sure hope GW doesn't ever feel the NEED to do it as that would open the door for every Jackleg nation with enough brain cells to make such bombs to use them.
Although he did pre-emptively strike Iraq in order to save us from those HORRIBLE WMDs. God loves GW, he said so himself.
