| There are 3 parts of the law. Those who make the law, those who enforce the law, and those who interpret the law. Drug Enforcement Administration is obviously in the business of enforcing law. So why do they constantly and consistently get into the argument over legalization. Without fail they will throw their representative in to dispute all we say. But that isnt really their business is it? They should spend that representatives salary on education or treatment, but instead want to focus on prolonging their falure. Ever falure they have they spin it, say that it failed due to lack of funding, so they can get some more funds. But they will always fail because for ever buck they throw at the problem, drug trafficers MAKE 10 dollars. Think of it this way: The DEA steps up funding for intradiction. Street Prices soar, and since people are truly addicted to the harder drugs, nobody whines about the price. This raise in cost then goes back to the trafficers who then up the production and funding for trafficing. They then defeat the upped security with more drugs to be lost and more drivers to be arrested. The business raises to a new level with each crackdown. And while all this rather easily observed economic factor is taking place, the DEA chooses to enter into the interpretation of the law and the making of the laws when they make public anouncements and statements about drug polocy. It is their job to take the polocy as outlined by congress and enforce that based on what they feel is the best way to eradicate drugs from this country. They are not doing that.

| Actually it's much worse than you think. The DEA also has the power to make laws without any kind of democratic process; they can schedule things instantly. ~BD

| Not only that but asa hutchison (DEA Head) has the ability to, without due proccess, or any checks and balances associated with the rest of the government, can veto any states budget for the year with no explenation. The DEA is a dictatorship disguised with the phisod of public saftey. |

| i suggest watching the movie "Traffic" that recently (past couple years) came out in the movies. it basically shows how vicious and redundant the unending cycle for the war on drugs is.
