Default Which news networks are biased/unbiased?

Does anyone know? I tried to google it but all I can come up with are people bashing Fox News for beings so biased. Is there a place to get completely unbiased news? Maybe the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)?

No such thing as Un-Biased news. Americans are Sheep and all want to hear the news in the same biased way. If the news told the real and un-biased story then the viewers would go nuts whining about how un-popular that view was/is.

That's a pretty sweeping indictment. Aren't you an American?

Most people pick a news source that comes close to their own biases. (I'm fond of Time Magazine.) Far from all Americans wanting to hear the news in the same biased way, different Americans want to hear the news in their own biased way.

The fact is that it is virtually impossible for anyone to be totally unbiased. On top of that, very few will admit to their biases. Many people don't even recognize that they have biases.

It is up to the intelligent news consumer to look at the news from several sources and attempt to extract the wheat from the chaff. I find the best way to do this is find obviously biased sources so you know what you're looking at right off the bat.

Yes, you must sample the spectrum. It is just simply impossible to have a news show without bias. No matter what someone at some point along the chain decides wether something is good or bad and how to portray it wether that decision is made with conscious bias or just the natural reactions of a person or group of people. The beauty of our country is that we allow all those bias' to be aired. So go listen to a couple hours of Air America and then tune in to the Sean Hannity show. The truth has to fall somewhere in between those two extremes. Maybe after adding some mid-ground CNN in to the mix you can decide where that truth lies. Just never ... eeeeeeeeeeeever get your news from one source period all the time for the rest of your days.

The only unbaised news, is to see it first hand; with absolutly no commentary.

With that said c-span is the closest by far to an unbiased network. However, their washington journal show in the morning is biased, but they attempt to cancel out the bias by opening the show up to calls, and during my viewing experances, it appears to be fairly balanced between view points.

---
Though a pretty close to unbaised news source also is PBS, as they attempt, whenever possible (at least when I see it) to give both sides of an arguement even air time.

Just my observations.

Nah, meng. I think PBS leans left. I haven't watched PBS in like 2 years, though.
