| Money is a religion though. We've devoted ourselves to the stockpiling and spending of it so much that most of us have lost sight of the true pleasures in life this is a really great comment in a very interesting post. people dont seem to realize the amount of joy in trying to distance yourself from money. I think Thoreau said it best. "we spend the best part of our lives struglling and saving for a questionable future that may never come" kwhite you have really gotten me thinking of a time based value system...MADNESS... but it really seems to make sense...it would seem to me inevitable... we are livivng in a time when an unemployed drunken North American still makes way more money than a Thai farmer in his fields all day. It seems this would be a way to balance the scales ...pretty terrifying for all us lazy bastards throughout the world.. If a countries worth was measured by amount of physical labour I think we'd be fooked .. Pretty freaky how science fiction can come true. |
