Mylo - I should have checked this out first. I take back my previous statement about it being sent to china, they were going to introduce a bill where none of it could be exported to anywhere but Isreal, who's oil is expected to run out by 2004.

Hey, no harm; no foul, right?

It doens't surprise me that they'll try to ship the oil off. There's contradictions in what they're saying. We need more oil here. We need to ship it to Israel. Well which is it guys? Do we need it, or do they need it?

It's ridiculous that they'll spend all that money to develop ANWAR and spend barely anything to develop more fuel efficiency. And better fuel efficiency will in face cut our dependence on foreign oil.

i think the US needs isreal to have oil so they can get more oil. Isreal is of great strategic importance due to its position in the middle east, right?

That's exactly why they keep up the good relations with Israel. Notice how once a week Bush will say 'Israel has the right to defend themselves' while turning around and saying some pro-Palestein statement? It's about keeping them happy along with keeping the other guy from saying 'your not helping'.

Saudi Arabia has stoned many women since Bush has been in office and why hasn't he condemned it? Let's face it, human rights to the average citizen are very important, but to the government it is about money. If they can look good to the population and make some more money while letting atrocities go on, they will do that.

Half those '_______stan' countries that excercise human atrocities aren't under the magnifying glass because they are located in strategic areas that would help Bush go into Afghanastan and also finish what his Daddy couldn't - go after Iraq. And then he has the nerve to say he is doing it partially for the Iraqi people

No, it's because China has the power, the population and the military ignore hollow threats.

Maybe Israel should try conserving its oil instead of using it in tanks and buldozers to destroy refuge camps.

Yes...China does have the power, but not the total power it wants.

Israel has the right and the responsibility to defend itself. It is preposterous to think otherwise. ALthough, we should all conserve oil through more efficient automobiles. Maybe they could just build tanks and bulldozers that get more miles to the gallon.

The world went against Hitler, only later finding out what his war machine was up to with the jews. Now the jews are using Wehrmacht strategies against Palestinians who have no conventional army. Do you realy think it is fair to say that Israel is defending itself? It is no different from what the Nazi's did to them (jews) over 50 years ago.

Israel should also look at the diplomatic options available to them. The world would respect them more. Palestinains have no chance for negotiations because ISRAEL's Sharon does not think Arafat is a good leader. I find this pretty absurd because it is not Israels place to say who the Palestinians should choose as their leader.
