Which part am I confused about HappyMan?

The part where they claim they're about freedom while at the same time stripping Americans of their rights, or the part where they label anyone who believes in freedom a gun-loving, bible thumping racist?

Captain,
What I find confusing about that is you say that one extremely large population believes in a very narrow viewpoint, while at the same time blaming them for exactly that. That's the problem with blanket statements, is that no majority really has the exact same views on everything (which is why I don't think the whole 2 party/liberal-conservative system works)

I'm going by the generally accepted liberal standpoint.

Might I remind you that the "generally accepted" conservative standpoint is that all drugs should be illegal, ESPECIALLY marijuana.

Keep the peace.

Maybe you and I have a different definition of conservative. I consider the libertarian standpoint to be conservative, and that viewpoint is that everything should be legal except things that have a direct victim.

Then could it be that you have a different defenition of the word "liberal"?
I believe the majority of people who would call themselves "conservative" in america would want marijuana to remain illegal.

Default Liberal...

Keep in mind that just because someone is liberal does not necessarily mean they believe in everything the democratic party does, or anything they do for that matter. I myself, am a liberal.

If we are talking about political parties and/or economic systems though, my ideas most closely coincide with those of the Democratic Socialist Party and the Green Party. (I believe Nader himself is a Democratic Socialist)

liberalism: 1: a theory in economics emphasizing individual freedom from restraint and usually based on free competition, the self-regulating market, and the gold standard 2: a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of man, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties.

(Personally, mostly liberal.)
