| alright, when people think of the American Civil War, they think of slavery. But thats not really what it was all about. It was more about states rights than anything else. Did the states have the rights to make slavery legal. That was the issue. And really, the southern states were stupid for splitting from the US. They already had slavery legal, and for the north to change it, they would've had to have a 2/3 vote, which they didn't have. However, as soon as the southern states split, they had the majority, and made the changes. Now, im not saying that slavery is good; on the contrary, I think it was one of the most evil institutions ever created. But with this new law looking to be passed in Nevada, there are going to be some serious issues approaching. If it passes, there is little doubt in my head that the federal government will go in and shut down all of the cannabis cafes that will be opened. Now I see extreme similarities between this and the issues that led to the civil war. Is it not possible that some states could split from the union based on the priniciples of state's rights? Anyone? |
