What i mean is that i fully support the constitution (what i consider the basis of america), but H-A-T-E the current gov. Kinda like germans in WWII that loved Germany, but hated Hitler. What do you think?

I think that George Bush is a moron, and I hate Dick and all of bush's goons. They are power hungry and are taking away our civil liberties by taking advantage of our nation's situation. What's more they have started another "war on something." But I do love our country, I love the freedom that we are supposed to have, but for some reason we don't have it, oh well.

the country is the people, the land, the living, the way of life... the government is what they want to think of as "order". Sure the government does great things for the country and its people, but at the same time it is gradually growing more and more too-powerful... they're starting to make the country so safe that it limits us. and now for the big weed issue: just fricken legalize it, its use is growing, it's not as bad as tobacco or alcohol, it helps make love and not war, ease pain and depression... the government is just scared to legalize it because they don't like change and they don't like "hippies" cuz they have a free mind and contribute great ideas and start realizing what's going on in this day and age. the government wants the element of surprise, they don't want free minds snooping. and to tell u the truth, i'm kinda high right now so i really don't know what i'm rambling about... lol, peace.

Well, the original question was "can you love your country but hate the government?" The answer is yes.

I was making a comparison:
It's like you can love your father, but then one day something snaps in his head and he deliberately poisons all the customers.

Or like when you ask your best friend of 300 years if she could start to repay some of the money you loaned her, and she goes "what money? you never loaned me no money"

But what is a country then? A country is ranked according to it's government. If you love your country yet hate the government, then what is it you love... the actual land? The people who voted in/believe in the government you hate? Or is it just your town you like?
