The US Federal Governent, as of sometime ago, has completely purged itself of any credibility.

By Credibility, I mean it's ability to make a specific statement or allegation and have it pan out as true or reliable.

The DEA has recently done things Hutchinson said it would not do. They lie about marijuana 24/7. They suppress public debate by filling the media with their anti-marijuana propaganda.

The lying, propaganda, disinformation, massive incompetence - call it what you will - coming out of Washington and being filtered through State and local governments and through law enforcement has reached a fever pitch, I think.

For 9/11 they said no special alerts - until the last minute. Then we are on burnt orang alert...immiment disaster, grieve and remember with caution. Nothing happens. (At least no more medical marijuana clinics were attacked.)

They did this to aid in their abuse of the Attacks - make people more jittery and scared while out kissing them on the cheek saying "there there". part of their unholy quest for Constitutional Dictatorship.

Today we get this story from CNN and I cannot help but think of the Story of the Boy who cried wolf.

Jeb Bush controls Florida. His brother is the prez. Politicians with this sort of power needn't think twice about running law enforcement and the common person up the flagpole, expend a bunch of taxpayer resources JUST to keep up the jitters, the hysteria, and the pressure to divert attention from the Halliburto-Enron Megascam.

This is text book Pyschological Warfare. They have honed it for years with the War on Drugs, and they have "pulled out the stops" with the now-apparent bogus war on terror.

By bogus I mean that America was attacked - even if the CIA allowed it to happen - by outside forces. They destroyed a huge building and caused the economy - already strangled by Team Bush - to roll over and wilt. They killed a bunch of people and that's horrible. There can be more attacks and more death and mayhem, but these outsiders cannot actually attack "america". They can only kill people and destroy things.

But Ashcroft, and Rumsfeld and Cheney and the operational people of Team Bush have lept to use the attacks to pursue goals they set ages ago during the Reagen-Bush terms. They are on there way to taking America hostage.

They are doing a fine job, too. And we call that TREASON.

If by responded they mean alerted, then I don't think they were crying wolf at all in this situation.

I haven't quite got to the stage of my uncontrolled paranoia to believe that it's "all a conspiracy" (insert evil laugh here). Yes, some politicians are using this as an excuse to try and change things to the way they want it to be. Some people are bad, some people are good.

At least a week before the anniversary the news stations here were reporting a chance of terrorist activity for 9/11, then on the 9th or 10th they raised it to orange.

No fan of Bush myself, but no I can't say anything he has done has been treason.

The news must not have hit you yet. YES another medical marijuana clinic was attacked. This one in my own county. The Genesis 1:29 dispensary was raided on 9-12-02.

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Authorities closed a major east-west highway, known as "Alligator Alley," in south Florida early Friday and established a no-fly zone above the area after stopping suspects who could be plotting a terror attack in Miami, law enforcement sources told CNN.

This is happening within 50 miles of my house. I know a bunch of cops that are on the scene. It's not a freakin publicity stunt.

Yes, there are definate threats to national security like the one you have described. This does not negate the fact that many "threat alerts" have been called with no incidents to back them up whatsoever. This has the effect of increasing the apathy level of people in regards to actual potential terror attacks.
I don't know how closely you follow california, but if I hear Gray Davis give one more "terror alert" about the golden gate bridge, I think I will be sick. I would think that these needless alerts would hurt San Francisco businesses by people not wanting to travel over the bridge.
Anyways, please let us know how your situation goes, Niteshift. I hope that it is only suspicion.

Its becoming a chicken little/boy who cried "wolf" situation with the incessant terror alerts.

Eventually it will come to a point where people begin to tune them out, and I think we are rapidly approaching that point.

by and large people don't have very long attention spans to begin with..

The incident prescipitating this was the alleged terrorists - middle eastern medical resident - we're eating at a little place in Calhoun Georgia. Thats about an hour north of atlanta, in the foothills of the mountains. It's quite "traditonal" (white) there. $20.00 says they were being stared at rudley by the locals. So they decided to rev them up a bit, knowing exactly what's going on.

They mutter something ominous and leave.

What the hell is there to charge them for? They spoke the offending words (alleged offending words) in Georgia, yet Florida got stuck with the law enforcement expenditure.

The lady who phoned in this bogus "tip" was being lauded as a hero by CNN as of 2pm this afternoon.

Can you imagine the TIPS program actually being put into practice?????

We're still on high orange too. (Note: Terror alerts should be combined with the weather on the local news. They can be reported the same way, with a map and a cute little sponser, just lke the Weather Channels"Allergy Maps": A 50% chance of terrorism in the Northwest, and scattered threats in the south. Looks like a nice terror-free weekend though..back to you Bill!)

I think it shows that the federal government has yet to develop a clue as to how to address its problem with terror. Part of that is the nature of government incompetence and the warping influence of politics. Too busy worrying about turf and how to arrest potheads to figure out what to do to keep america from sliding into a situation like Israel, where one has to worry about car bombs and terrorist shootings everyday.

The rest of the politics is Team Bush trying to manipulate every little wrinkle into a way to torch whats left of the constitution.

The Genesis 1:29 club was raided yesterday, the day after "America Remembered" and whilst still on a dusky burnt orange terror alert status. All the plants they took had been there for about 90 days or more, so why yesterday? I say it's to provide "cover" for raids that only the federal government supports.

When the next attacks occurs the 'government' will take alot of heat, Regardless of how many alerts were issued. The fedeal government is damned either way.
