| OK, I can't seem to find a whole lot of info about this, so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone knows. I don't know how the States works out with this right now, but in Canada we've got a bunch of election crap coming up in October. So candidates have started posting campaign signs everywhere. Now, I've heard it's a crime to remove or destroy these campaign signs. Is there any truth in that? Like, say a sign is posted on your lawn promoting a party opposite to the one you support. Is it acceptable to remove the sign?

| If you OWN the property, I'd say yes. If it's the landlords property and you rent from him then probably not. |

| In the states, they're not legally allowed to put anything on your property at all, without your consent. At least, in the states.

| Yeah, I'm not renting from anyone so it would be a private property sort of thing. They do this every year without consent. |

| Why don't you call up your local police station and ask them? Or the city Law Director's office?

| When my dad got home I asked him if he had given his consent to anyone for it to be put there. He said he hadn't and ended up phoning the elections people. They gave us permission to take it down so we did. ![]() Thanks for the replies, all! |
