| I'm with you on individuals getting involved and doing what we can. Not so much on spending tax dollars and government involvement. I'm kind of with Ron Paul and Davey Crockett, the constitution doesn't give our government the authority to spend our money on stuff like that.

| I curl into a foetal position just comprehending this quagmire. Beyond aid, there really is nothing that can be done. Skepticism aside, though: the US Navy`s presence off the coast has been admirably productive; essentially (as I understand it) using maritime law and a trademark streak of chivalry to engage piracy and halt black market trade and aid local vessels. Fuckin`A.

| You can hope all you want.. the only liquids the majority of those people would send us if they could would be napalm. One of my freinds served in Iraq when he got home he told me the stories.. granted its a totally different culture and country but I suppose I have become bitter as a result. Children and Adults alike would walk up get free water get free supplies than literally as they walk down the road and gain some distance flick off or scream obscenities at the soldiers. Regardless of the stupid things the United States does it provides the most and by a WIDE margin the most international relief compared to any other country in the world. What do we get in return? Marked war mongers infidels and they cast stereotypical images any chance they can get to deface any and all the good things we do including international relief to a slew of countries as well as footing the majority of funding for UN. Maybe your right maybe I'm a flaming asshole and have become to bitter from hearing stories of people coming home from the war getting spit on by Iraqi children. Maybe turning the other cheek and continuing to help those in need is the right thing I know its certainly a better option if you want to be poliiticly correct but honestly everytime I hear one of these over stylized UN hate meetings aimed at US policy and everytime we get a big FU from these countries leaders the less I care about whats going on around the world and the more I just want to watch it burn at our advantage. Anyways man I'm sorry if I sidetracked your thread. I think what your doing is with the best of intentions and your probably a hell of alot more noble than me but thats just the way I see it. |

| Sorry but why not let the rest of Africa take care of their neighbors. What is Kenya or Algeria or Moracco or the Congo doing about it? What is Egypt doing about it? The answer is very little. I'm nearly 50 years old and there were problems in Africa when I was a kid and I'm sure there will be problems in Africa 200 years after I'm gone. Heres an idea....let Chad and Sudan work it out. |
