| Many love it. Many are loathe to admit, but, going negative buys votes, Why? Maybe 'cause we're just fucked up, or (regardless of the good thread about when we last got laid) we are simply bored stiff. I say it's great entertainment and greater still in it's corruption. Fuck 'em all seys eye. Let's grovel in the fast and loose and say fuck all to the 'have nots'. We've got ours and god damn if a good show isn't worth it... .

| Sterbo - Was the preceding written by your evil (or retarded) twin? Usually what you write is quite understandable to speakers of Standard English. [Mod note : Trolling infraction issued.]

| OK, if we need to plod then here it is. My post is under Elections, Politics> We have the perpetual question of whether a candidate is better off "going negative" or not. I find it rather timely, ergo my post. Sorry if it was a bit obscure... . |

| I thought you might be driving at that, but Quote:
So you're saying a politician having a negative reputation might be helpful to them? How so? Or, if you're saying that politicians use negativity, e.g. fear, to garner votes... ![]()

| Negative ads are the quickest way for them to lose my vote. Can't speak for anyone else though.

| Same here, when a politician goes negative I think it's because 'they' are afraid. I hate how politics have become in our country ![]() And if you were talking about negative rep @ the forum, I think its an excellent feature.

It's especially pertinent as the 3 candidates move into the 'end game'. The irony is that most people when asked will say that they feel one candidate going negative on another is offensive and counterproductive. If that were truly the reality of it then Politicians would not mud sling as often as they do. The 'gunslingers' that each candidate hires to pull the trigger are always waiting in the wings. I'm really curious about how people here feel about this choice. Quote:
Politicians only behave in ways that they have found to produce the results they want. The responsibility for that lies squarely on the shoulders of we, the people. Somehow we can't face up to the fact that Politicians are like a perpetual 'trial balloon'; seeking and then acting strictly on our Thumbs up, or Thumbs down. Quote:
I guess on the bright side one could say that we, in comparison, have made great progress. Thing is, on some level I prefer the antics of the "Ruskies" and the Brits to Americans. At least they are honest enough to put it out there for all to see and digest. That, as opposed to coming on with the big and then slipping one our backs...
