| I have beeen a catholic, a lutheran, a Baptist, a Brother in Christ, and now i'm mostly Christian but I agree with other religious beliefs. There is no reason that we should only believe in one aspect of God to love God is to love God that's all there is to it, either you're a believer or a non-believer, denominations create the fuzz in which we believe. There is a neeed to move away from organized religion and to a more spiritual, kinda eastearn styled religion. Like rastas weed has it's place in religion. For me weed is a gift from God and when I toke my bong, I thank God. Chow. | |

| There is one poll option missing: NONE I don't have any religious beliefs. I have spiritual beliefs that aren't tied to any formal or informal religious doctrine.

| I'm only 18! Don't ask me this question! At the moment, I'm somewhere in between agnostic, deist, pagan, and "Gods of Nature" which is what I voted for.

| i am an intense stoner and care about religion enough to have a philosophy and religion degree, even though it is pretty useless so far.. i was born atheist but value deeply spirituality and the experience religion elicits, but in a metaphysical sense I believe Buddhism is the most true, so I fell under the category of other

Unless desire is subconscious, it is not fulfilled, no, not in this life. Then verily sleep is better than prayer. Quiescence is hidden desire, a form of "not asking"; by it the female obtains much from man. Utilize prayer (if you must pray) as a means of exhaustion, and by that you will obtain your desire." -occultist A.O SPARE |

| I clicked "Christian", but I feel like that word has become tainted. I try to be a follower of jesus. In my opinion, too many people have completely distorted what Jesus taught for their own (or their church's own) benefit. |

| Maybe the phrase, "Follower of the way of the Christ" is a better term than Christian, even though it is what the word Christian should mean. Whenever I'm asked that question, I always balk at responding with the word Christian, but it is what I am. The problem is that people believe that all they have to do to get a free pass to heaven is simply believe that Jesus came, taught, died on the cross and was resurrected. They seem to forget that Christ came to lead the way down that narrow path that few find. To be a true Christian means to be as Christ like as possible. I have an interesting question for all of those here who seem to hate Christianity. Is it the teachings of Christ, or the followers of Christ or both that you despise so much? While I'm lumped into "Christianity", I strive to be like Christ, not my fellow Christians or any image given to me by any preacher. I came to my beliefs on my own with my own logic and my own reasoning. I'm not being a follower of anyone but Christ, and I have studied many different systems of belief before coming to the conclusions I have. My beliefs and faith are evolving always, and ten years from now I may disagree with everything I have said here (though I doubt it now). I have met atheists turned Christian, and Christians turned atheist, and all the while, I keep wondering why we can't simply all choose to love each other as Christ commanded at the last supper. We get the reality we create and we likely deserve the reality we have. We as individuals choose and neither God nor Satan can interfere with that choice. In the end, you and you alone are responsible for your choices in this life. Make them good ones. On a side note, just today I was telling a friend that if I didn't believe in divine justice, I'd have to go buy an uzi... The only way I can forgive anyone their transgressions towards me is through my belief in divine justice. And if I'm wrong and we simply cease to exist as so many here seem to believe, at least there won't be anything left to be disappointed. Are you going to be disappointed to find that you don't simply cease to exist, but that instead divine justice gets to have it's way with you? Do you think that these world views have an impact upon the thousand choices you make every day? In the end, the only way to know for sure what happens is to simply choose to stop breathing... ![]() BTW Loki, if I didn't have to spread some Rep around to give you more, I'd have given you more... You will have to settle for my thanks. For it was you who inspired this mini rant... ![]() Peace and Love

“The person who professes faith in external law is like a man standing in the light of a lamp suspended from a post. He stands in the light of this lamp, it shines on him, and there is nowhere further for him to go. The person professing the teachings of Christ is like someone carrying the light in front of him on a pole of unspecified length; the light is always in front of him and always spurs him to go beyond himself, newly revealing to him a new, illuminated space that attracts him.” -Leo Tolstoy | |
