Well, originally I'm jewish, and still have much respect for judiasm, as I do every religion. How ever my religion, is Deism. I wouldn't be too surprised if alot of people on this board are Deist as well. It is a surprisingly customed religion to pot. The dictionary defines a Deist as "One who believes in the existence of a God or supreme being but denies revealed religion, basing his belief on the light of nature and reason."

Revealed religion is any religion that claims to be better than other religion, or claims to give profound revelations or enlighten in a way other religions don't. An example is Judiasm. Judiasm claims that G-d gave them the Torah, and that his Torah is the word of G-d. Deism claims that unless G-d reveals to each of us individually that this is the word of G-d, those who choose to believe it is, are only believing the person who told this to them. This is also true for the bible, and all other religious writings.

Deists only believe in G-d. There are no prayers of sorrow or prayers begging G-d for forgiveness. Only prayers of thanks for the wonderful world we live in and love for G-d.

Well, I'm technically not a Protestant, which is what I voted on the poll. And from your definition of Deism, I guess I'm a hyrbid of Protestant and Deism. I dont believe that any form of writing that is claimed to be the word of God could have possibly remained the same over the last 2k yrs. The Bible has been translated so many times, and everyone had to add their two cents.

I claimed for the last few years to be a non-denominational Protestant mainly because I am more of a spiritual believer in God; where as, most Protestants are religious believers (i.e. church goers).

Personally, I dont think any one religion is right. So I treat them all equally. I have just as much respect for Hindus as I do for Christians, Jewish, etc. (Although, even though Satanism is technically a religion, I dont exactly, at all, agree with anything they say. But hey, we all have the right to believe what we choose...)

And, I dont pray for forgiveness or for "favors." I only pray to God when I'm thanking him for what he has blessed us all with (quite frequently mentioning herbs... Go figure.)

According to all my beliefs, I guess I'm more so a Deist then Protestant. Wow, I guess I should say thanks Rennoch, you opened my eyes to a religion I've been unknowingly following for a while. So, "Thank you, Rennoch." Heh.


(MODERATORS: Please moce Christiananity to one (Catholic and Protestant as one) and add Deism in there for the people here who are, so we can all try and vote and get a reasonable count of who believes in what.)

I don't really follow any religious beliefs at all. Taoism and Buddhism make more sense to me than anything, but I've only barely begun to touch on those things. I pretty much follow my own beliefs, and I tend to think it's naive of anyone to pretend they know what happens after we die, nobody does, so we might as well just wait and find out.

Plus, I don't really think any one religion can be "right", but that they all contain various truths to greater and lesser degrees.

But that's just my opinion, my intent isn't to flame anyone for their beliefs, I'm just stating mine.

3. shintoism.
4. scientology.
5. azcan/aztica.
6. rastafarian.
7. mini-denoms of christianity. (presbyterian, methodist, etc.)
8. neizchites. (they exist. they are scary.)
9. technocracy. (another scary one.)

I was baptized as a Catholic and I really don't follow any beliefs of the Catholic reliogin because it basically they were the ones that invented the idea of hell and all the nasty things down there. Buddism makes the most sense to me personally...
