Well I beleave marijuana, in moderation, is does not intoxicate you, but clears your mind, like green tea, but more effective. I say natural psychedelics does not intoxicate, but clears the mind, while man made psychedelics intoxicates. And alcohol was the fist man made psychoactive, so that is why it is mentioned most in holy texts. I beleave Buddhists can smoke pot, and other natural off-topics, but nothing that is processed by man.

As a practicing Pagan, though I do use marijuana just to relax and take a break from the stresses of day to day life, I use it as a spiritual tool. Marijuana has an energy of it's own, and when using it for meditation and ritual, you can achieve a truly profound experience. It is a gift from the Mother, I believe, and it should be used.

I won't get into it too much, as some people see my beliefs as a crock of rubbish. But that's my two cents.

Yeah there are a lot of misconceptions about Pagans, Wiccans, and witches. My mom asked me if my friend was satanist because he had a lot of tattoos and piercings etc...

I think you should... although I think all religions are rubbish.

I'm not atheist though. I think it's just as dumb to deny something you can't disprove just as much as you can't prove a belief you have... it's something only you and God know about.

Well, fair enough. I can completely relate to the skepticism I'm sure you feel towards religion... because I used to be quite the skeptic myself.

The thing about Paganism is that, no matter how you explain it, there will be someone who's Pagan path is quite different from what you described. It is such a diverse religion, but yet all beliefs have a similar root, something that binds them.

Paganism (from Latin paganus, meaning "country dweller, rustic") is a word used to refer to various religions and religious beliefs from across the world. It is a term which, from a Western perspective, has modern connotations of spiritualist, animistic or shamanic practices or beliefs of any folk religion, and of historical and contemporary polytheistic religions in particular.

Thankyou, Wikipedia. That is a fairly accurate summary, as the small religions that came before Christianity were linked in one way of another through their beliefs. Usually through fertility symbolism, Gods of Goddesses with striking similarities, or (if you go back far enough) the worship of the Woman - the great Mother.

As our race evolved, we observed the world around us. In our early days we lived with the earth, relying entirely upon the hunt and the growth of wild plants for our survival. Everything was alive, and everything had an essence. The concept of spirits came to be, and with them came stories to explain the world around us and the mysteries we could not understand. This was the beginning of mythology. There are some ideas about myths and how they are not simply stories, but lessons about the deep spiritual path that must be taken by those who want to follow the path of the Mother. It is thought that in early times, great cities were ruled by matriarchy and women were respected and well learned. It is women who has the magic to create the life of another human being, it is women who bleed in the time when the moon is full. The full moon soon became sacred to the Mother, as well as blood.

Old world religions that are commonly associated with Paganism are Egyptian, Celtic Druidism and Shamanism, Norse, Native American Shamanism, early Hinduism, Greek, Roman, Elusinian, Welsh, Mayan, Aztec, Shinto, Slavic, Hoodoo and Voodoo, and early African God and Goddess worship.

That's only scratching the surface...
