Hey guys, Im just wondering what's your opinion on religion?

Personally, I think it's gone wayy to far.

Why can't we respect each others beliefs, And accept them for what they believe in?

Killing each other because they Have different beliefs then you? Thats immoral, And outrageous In my eyes.

Who's to tell each other what's right and what's wrong.

It drives me nuts, when People come to my door, and ask if i want to convert to there beliefs? Like thats very disrespectful in my mind, If i wanted to believe in your beliefs, I'd come to you. And ask, Not go door to door to try and get people to come to my church Or something.

Middle east, Killings everyday, Only because they don't believe in what the others do?

Anyways, What's your opinion on the religous atmosphere in the world today?

I agree with you very much. I personally believe that religion has become a government inside of a government. they give out all these other standards of what a "good" person should be like. there really is no set standard of what "good" is; its all matter of opinion. another good thing you hit, the ridiculous religious wars. so many people being killed, with no justified reason. I myself am agnostic; I do accept that there may be a divine creator, but I think it very unlikely that any human religion is indeed fact.

I'm not saying that you're incorrect in saying that killing is wrong, I'm simply pointing out that everyone tells other people what's right and wrong, it's just a matter of extent and degree.

By Downs, I assume you mean Down Syndrome. No, I don't.

Down Syndrome doesn't always have a detrimental effect on Cognitive abilities anyway. I've met a few people with Down Syndrome who perfectly productive, healthy, independent lives.

And most of them are capable of proper spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalization. I wasn't aware that I was required to justify my statements with Positive proof.

However, if you insist...How am I wrong?

You also stated that it people should not tell each other what is right and wrong.

I am simply pointing out that those two statements, while in my opinion, both correct, are contradictory.

By telling people that they should not kill each other, you are telling other people what is right, and what is wrong.

Telling someone that something is immoral is, quite literally, the same thing as telling them that something is wrong.

I really wouldn't blame any particular faith, but just some of their adherents.
There are plenty of annoying fanatics out there, but I've met gazillions of people who are remarkably...um...."dedicated" to everything from professional wrestling, to Beanie Baby collecting who are equally nauseating.
There are lots of cool religious people who "walk the walk" and don't need to "talk the talk".

well first I'll give the good i see [short list believe me]

religion is in my opinion a way to controll people or groups of people though the idea that theres a judgement and punishment at death

other than , that if you take the good such as treat people as you want to be treated ect.... it's good as a set of basic laws to live by

, and I'll add that it's turning out to be a good basic history book.

getting is a understatment if you check history books all bad man has done to other men has been in the name of religion

from the crusades to missonarys who either killed or converted you to their thought's

,the spanish inquisition is another good way to show how this supposed goodness has gone so very wrong

and now from WW II to now basicly all the trouble in the middle east has been based on religion

and I'm gone piss off the muslims but , well it's all them and Israel fighting over the one place that seems importanat to 3 religions

and now we have muslims who if you watch the news say out right that if you don't convert to Islam your a infidel and you should die[kinda like the crusades and inquisition]

and they are the worlds most violent people now they think nothing of killing women ,childern and old folk's ,all in the name of their god

now the lesser evils let's do this the short way Jim jones , moonies , David Koresh all brain washers , that so far have caused the end of their own people exseption being the moonie's

they keep their people alive and just take ALL money and good's they make from them another great religion ...HA ..HA

then you got the cathlic priest the world's great child molesters

and the pope believes a "I'm sorry " will fix all the poor childern these people have scared for life

but you sound like you got a vist from my favorite religion the Jewhovaes witnesses

they are by far the pushiest people on earth , they refuse to take no for a answer .

for them I learned a long time ago either don't answer the door or answer with a joint in your mouth and tell them you worship satan and ask if they want to join you !!!

all in all I believe religion is a control device nothing more nothing less

it's just a way to get those who believe to do as you want them to do

and all that is done by twisting the word's in the bible to fit their needs at the time
