I've been thinking about this recently and I was looking for outside input. My thought are if Christianity accepts marijuana usage or if it is against it. My opinion is that Christianity accepts it because if God put it on the earth for man to use, then its acceptable. Genesis 1:12 says "The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good." If God makes these "plants bearing seed" and sees it as good, then shouldn't marijuana be included in this? Also Genesis 1:29 says "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Here it specifically says 'herb' and He gives every plant for man's consumption. I don't see why smoking weed should be any different... Another funny thing is a stoner revelation that my friend and I had is that maybe the apostles and those who spoke to God were under the influence of weed or possibly the other non-human produced drug, mushrooms. Reports note that mushrooms give spiritual experiences, so maybe these drugs open up one's mind to fully experience God. As a conclusion I pose a question...what if you make it to Heaven and God's like, "WTF I put weed and shrooms on the earth for you to speak to me and open your minds and no one did them". How stupid are all the anti's going to feel.

The biblical god condemns being intoxicated in any way, shape, or form. I don't read the bible anymore and do not consider myself christian as I follow another religion now however I do recall reading texts in there that disagree with your statement in regards to being intoxicated which would include marijuana and other off topics as they intoxicate you. Trust me on this one man. Do I think the christian god would send you to hell if there was one for smoking weed though? Not really. Christianity is about realizing that you are a sinner in need of a saviour not to make you into a perfect person. As long as you put god first even above marijuana than you would have accepted him as your saviour. However if you are not willing to give up weed to follow the christian god then in christian terms you really don't know him and haven't found him. Like I said I don't beleive in that anymore but that is what I have found in many christian circles to be the common belief. As far as my thoughts on having a religous experience is that being intoxicated, regardless of what it is, usually just reveals your inner counsciousness not a god or goddess.

Cool, yeah since you do not covet it or idolize it then it should be good. But why did God put it [weed] on this earth and declare it good?

The way I see it, god loves to see us happy and this plant touches our happy feeling inside of our brain and makes us happy. However I don't believe that it was meant to be smoked as smoking harms the body. I think that we were to eat the herb, or consume it in a way that we don't harm our body.

| Jesus turned water into wine. I know that a person feels it when they consume wine, or any other alcohol. Everything in moderation. ![]() God created the marijuana plant, like every other plant. I look at it this way. Again, everything in moderation. You do not have to get stupidly stoned when you use marijuana. For me, it's a conscience matter. I refuse to allow men to tell me what is right and wrong. However, I will let God tell me. Either through his word, or in prayer. ![]() Not to mention that men make alcohol, by combining many ingredients together. God created the marijuana plant, and we don't have to do anything to it except grow it and harvest it. ![]() Personally, I don't like consuming alcohol and marijuana together myself, but others do.

More appropriately, we should be looking at the Bible's references to intoxicants, the only one recognized being alcohol. Over all, the Bible seems to support celebratory intoxication in social situations and condemn excess.
