| Well i have to say that i know the title doesn't really explain much but i do have ask what exactly is the difference in most religions?.. From what i have obsereved( coming from a 16 year old btw). i have looked at many religions and notice that they all have a few basic agreements. And yes i have also notice that there are a few exceptions to this rule in different religions. But from what i have researched i have seen that Christianity- One main God Christ Who teaches about love and care ect. ect. Has a son with unheard of and wonderus powers. There are rules for good ( 10 Commandments) A main book to read Bible There is a Heaven and a Hell. And this is just a main sum up of Christianity. I was wondering if anyone else could reply and inform me of the different core belifes of other religions because from the information i have gather is that other religions have the main same core basis, and that if you compare them with other religions you will mostlikely find more that a few simularities... feel free to post any mistakes i will be adding more but i havent slept for 72- give or take hrs.. i goin to crash now.. |

| Religion almost always turns into conflict. Thats why I stay well clear of Religion. Thats not to say im not "religious/spiritual" I just keep to myself about my OWN views (which are nothing similar to any popular religion) | |

| There really isn't much of a difference(with the exception of comparing polytheistic with monotheistic religions). Regarding monotheistic religions, your description of Christianity pretty much summed it up. The basic beliefs are extremely similar to Islam. Even some ancient religions were very similar. The Egyptian story of Horus, for example, is nearly the exact same story as the story of Jesus, with the exception of some minor events. The main reason for this is because they were all based off of each other. Judaism started, Christianity added to it, while borrowing from ancient religious stories such as the aforementioned story of Horus, Muhammad disagreed with some Christian ideas, so he tweaked them around a bit and wrote his own version of the Bible, thus birthing Islam. Then Joseph Smith told a group of Christians "you're doing it wrong" and came up with his own spin-off(Mormonism). Polytheistic(Hinduism) and Atheistic(Buddhism, Satanism) religions are different from this, though. But many polytheistic religions are similar in that they follow the same types of gods with different names and appearances. |

| If you can grab a hold of a movie named 'Zeitgeist' I suggest you do. It dives into what you've touched on about the similarities of religions with more detail.

| Buddhism: - main philosopher/spiritual leader named Buddha - Eightfold Path (8 "commandments") - No god or all god (panthesis) - No main book to read (sutras) - rebirth/karmic promotion - focus on meditation (at least in Zen)
