| Let me preface this by saying that I am an atheist. Also, my intent here is not to argue the legitimacy of any beliefs, be them religious or otherwise. This poll will have several options. It will have options for those who were born into a specific religion. Those who were born into a religion and converted to another religion, and a separate option for those who converted to agnosticism, atheism, deism, etc. My intent is merely to find out how those of us here came about our beliefs. After there have been sufficient answers to this poll, I will explain my reasons. As I said previously, I do not intend to, nor will I, argue the legitimacy of any individual belief. If this thread degenerates into an argument about who is right or wrong, I will delete it, or ask that replies be locked.

| I realize that there are some options that I left off, such as being born into a specific religion and converting to, say, Mysticism, or Buddhism, or numerous other options. This was intentional for a number of reasons: I gave an option for those who were born into one religion and converted to another, without specifying what religion that is. So it could very well be Buddhism, or any of the others I left out. Also, I didn't want to make the poll so long as people wouldn't participate. Perhaps the main factor is this board only allows 12 options, and I chose 10 that I felt were the most well rounded. Thanks in advance for any replies! |

| My mom is christian and my dad never really specified what his religious beliefs were. I used to be involved in church a lot when I was younger mostly to see my friends who went to church, I haven't been there in years though. I don't really like classifying myself into a certain belief system, the basis of most religions is to be good to people and that's what I believe, I dunno if there's a god, or multiple gods, or no god. If there wasn't a god would you just stop being a good person cause there is no heaven? As for the whole worshiping thing, if there is a god then I don't think he/she/it would want people spending their time worshiping, I think he/she/it would be more humble than that. Having people worship you is something power-hungry people want. In conclusion, I have my own beliefs, if they happen to coincide with a certain belief system it's purely coincidental.

| I choose Born into a family without religious convictions and continue that trend.Because I haven't explored every religion, I am not very religious so I accept whatever religion someone else wants to practice. I just ask that those people don't try to press or sell their religion to me because I have better things to worry about, I will find my religion from whats inside of myself not what another person believes or thinks.

| I chose "Born into a family without reiigious convictions and became religous" although it is a bit (okay way) more complicated than that and I have a bit of a problem with the term "religious" I decided that answer fit best to what was being asked.

| I do not follow any specific religion, however I have a belief in the Sacred Scriptures and the form of government detailed within. I have come to this through study and deep research of the Sacred Scriptures. |

| I was born and brought up Catholic or Christian or w/e, but now I am an Agnostic Atheist. I used to go to church every Sunday with my grandparents when I was younger, but I never really payed attention or enjoyed it. I always thought it was kind of boring... But now that I am older and have my own opinions and views, I have totally abandoned religion seeing that all it does is cause hate, war, and controversy. |
