Thank you for your post, you really help re-affirm the reasons I think celebrating ignorance (faith) is dangerous.

its true in the bible it says god has given us domain over all the animals and plants to do with as we please, but no where in the bible dose it say whether the word man means an individual person or if it means mankind as a whole.

if it means an individual then why not say its just as much our right to drink tea made from hemlock? I mean that would follow the same logic would it not?

you Christians kill me. you pick and choose aspects of your own religion based just on what you want. not what your religion actually demands of you.

if you really want to follow your religion find me and stone me to death for being a blasphemer. your probably saying oh wait that is against the law. that is murder i will burn in hell for that.
well guess what even tho 1. its against the laws of man its against the bible not to.
2. even tho the bible says thou shalt not kill. what it really means is thou shalt not kill a fellow Christian.

the bible calls for all heretics to be stoned to death. and it also says follow the laws of man less they go against the laws of god. so find me stone me hope you get lucky enough to kill me. then go directly to jail and wait for the rapture and hope your cell mate dose not rape you and make you a gay you want to get into heaven after all.


now i do not want you to get me wrong i am not bashing your religion just pointing out your argument is flawed because the bible uses so many words to say very little.

if you truly belive in god dont be fooled by the words of man. it was man who wrote the bible not god. if he exsist and he did tell man what to write do you honestly think we wrote it exactly as stated? the bible itself has been changed from the original text so many times there are parts in it that have been removed there are parts that are not in it that probably should be. we change things to suit us we dont change ourselves to suit those things.

I should apologize upfront, as I haven't read all the essays posted before now.

Arguing for the freedom to use any substance of choice (or even only minimally-harmful ones such as marijuana) and be given full control over our own bodies on the basis of religion is not as robust as doing so on the basis of general principle and ethics. Freedom to smoke based on religion is more of a footnote in the scheme of things.

It's almost unfortunate that religion is so heavily entrenched in the humanity that in effect, the usage of religion as a tool has become relevant in an argument to support full legalization. I have nothing against religion if one uses it to achieve a higher consciousness of spiritual tranquility to help themselves, but as far the big debate goes, it's a distraction from the bigger picture.

It's also unfortunate that religion should ever extend into any context of law to promote the legislation of morality upon persons in situations where no victimhood exists (or such "victimhood" is a choice and only inflicted upon the person who is willing to accept it unto themselves).

Judgement Day comes for all. I am here to Judge No One only to share how important a relationship with Jesus is for anyone and all. When Jesus Died on the cross he took the place of the 10 commandments. There is no SIN to great for God to forgive except Blasphimy! Which would be " There is no GOD" What a slap in the face after giving us life and the beauties with in it. Jesus never stoned anyone to Death! Anyone that reads the Bible should know he STOPPED the men from STONING a lady caught in Adultery!! He said, " he who is without sin may throw the first stone"! No one did!! Gods son sacrificed his life so ALL would have the opportunity of "EternalLife". I dont get it!! It happen over 2000 years ago, its no secret, Why not " THANK YOU JESUS" instead of " the BIBLE SAYS THIS, THE BIBLE SAYS THAT. It is easy for Satan to throw doubt and confusion in peoples lives who really dont want to believe or just uneduacated about THE FACTS in the Bible.. I am 39 and asked Jesus in my life when I was 8. Do you really think I am being fooled? The prayers I pray to Jesus have always been answered even many thoughts I did not pray. Why would anyone want to miss this kind of relationship? Just like any other relationship the more time you put in it the more you fall in LOVE. EPHESIANS 2: 8-10 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in WEALTH, which is so uncertain, but to put hope in God who ricly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. I believe the reasons are quite obvious in your posts in this thread.

1) You claim that all your prayers have been answered, even prayers you didn't pray. How did you fool yourself into believing this? Try this out, pray for 10 pounds of pure gold to magically appear in front of you and see if your prayer is answered. I bet you will respond "God doesn't work that way" which is really too bad. It seems like god never works in anyway that allows us to find out if he/she/it actually exists. What a horrid creature. He/she/it tortures those who disbelieve in its existence, yet hides from those who seek the truth.

2) Shouting insane religious nonsense about "Judgment day"

3) Total disregard for evidence. Your posts make it obvious that you will believe anything a person you acknowledge as an authority figure tells you. What evidence convinced you that your beliefs are correct and all other beliefs incorrect? Or did somebody (or more likely groups of people) tell you that your faith is the one true faith and all the other faiths are fairy tales? How do you know your beliefs are more true than a Hindu?

Celebrating ignorance (faith) is dangerous. We shouldn't be congratulating ourselves that we believe in something despite overwhelming evidence that the something we believe in is completely non-existent.
