If god is a state of mind..what created the universe? If it is this god character, who was he constructed? He cant just appear because appearence is physical, is it a matter of it being metaphysical?

The problem is not my definition. It is your one sided view that some individual created everything. I just accept that this universe existed before me and will exist after me. For thousands of years people thought that there were dozens of gods and goddesses that brought about change in the world of mortals. For thousands of years people thought the world was flat. Religion is a great control factor in the societies of the world. Polytheism was around a hell of a lot longer than monotheism has. God in the proper noun sense of the word has existed for about 5700 years. This universe has been around about 15 - 30 billion. Do the math beats

I just had a thought on this. Lots of people don't believe in evolution because there are still apes. I know scientists have been wrong before like when they thought the world was flat, and this could be the same way. I personally believe that marijuana could have been the cause for a direct group of apes evolving. We already know that we have been using cannabis for a long time because our brain has something in it to accept cannabis. We must have evolved to accept it. I just think that a group of apes, not all of them, discovered marijuana, and could have contributed to evolution. Just a thought I had, kinda interesting to think about. Only theory though. Peace everyone.

For some reason, I don't know if I can go for the whole God created the earth cuz then he would have had to create a whole other sh*t load of planets out there (over 100 planets have been discovered (gas planets) ) and but all these other planets were formed by the natural rhythm of space with stars forming and all that. Doesnt make sense to me that God decided to choose this planet that we are on to make it the 'special' one. If and whenever we do find out that there is life on another planet out there that does have intelligent life on it, considering there is going to be a new telescope that will be able to detect 'rock' planets in like 2006 and whenever in the future we do make contact with this other intelligent species, if they happend to have the same damn idea basis of creation with God and all that as we do then maybe I can go for the whole idea of Christianity but until then I still question beliefs

god is an illusion made by man in response to the question.the question asked by every person at least once in thier life. "why am i here?" i believe people create religion because they can't say "i dont know" without feeling like a complete jackass to themselves and the people that surround them.

if you have religion, then you have the answers to why were here and what happens after we die. there is no "god" and there is no magical place you go when you die.
